You Can Now Get Your MySSS Card Printed Within Minutes at These Kiosks

(SPOT.ph) Have a Social Security System (SSS) number but no physical ID to show for it? Maybe you've been putting off the application or just never got around to getting one. Either way, having another ID on hand wouldn't hurt, especially since the new MySSS Card also works as a debit card.

Getting one might be quicker than you think. The SSS and Asia United Bank (AUB) now have 46 kiosks nationwide where you can get your MySSS Card printed in as fast as five minutes.

There's a catch, though: You'll need to complete your application online beforehand. The five-minute turnaround only covers the printing and release of the card, not the entire application process.

First, you'll need a permanent SSS number and a My.SSS account. You must also be registered with the National ID system, since SSS uses its records to verify your identity.

Applications are done through the My.SSS Member Portal. Once logged in, look for the MySSS Card option under Services, review your information, and complete the identity verification process.

You'll then need to choose a partner bank. If you want to use AUB's five-minute kiosks, you'll have to register for a HelloMoney account, even if you're not an existing AUB customer. That's because the new MySSS Card isn't just an identification card—it also works as a debit card linked to an account with your chosen SSS partner bank, where you can receive your SSS benefits and loan proceeds.

Only after you complete these can you proceed to a participating kiosk to get your card issued.

The MySSS Card issued through AUB costs P250 as a one-time issuance fee. It's not exactly cheap for an ID, but getting your card on the same day could come in handy if you're in a rush.

AUB isn't your only option. SSS also partners with other banks, including RCBC, which offers MySSS Card issuance through its DiskarTech platform. Unlike AUB's instant issuance service, regular card processing can take around 15 to 20 working days. Fees may also differ depending on the bank.

As for whether the MySSS Card counts as another valid ID, it is officially recognized for SSS transactions. However, other government agencies and private establishments aren't required to accept it, so don't assume you can use it everywhere.

If you already have an old UMID card, there's no need to replace it. Previously issued cards remain valid.

There are currently 46 listed instant issuance kiosks across the Philippines, including selected AUB and SSS branches. The published operating hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Members can also check participating locations through the HelloMoney app before visiting.
