10 Donation Drives to Help Communities Hit by the Habagat Floods

A little help can go a long way.

(SPOT.ph) We can’t seem to catch a break. Severe Tropical Storm Crising and the southwest monsoon have brought days of relentless rainfall since July 19—and even though Crising has exited the Philippines, the bad weather hasn't let up. Many communities continue to struggle with the aftermath of widespread flooding.

Nearly 1.9 million people across 16 regions have been affected by the combined effects of Crising, habagat, and a lingering low-pressure area, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). At least seven people have died, while eight remain missing and seven others have been injured.

If you’re fortunate enough to have a roof over your head, food on the table, and a bit of money to spare, now’s a good time to extend that comfort to others.

10 local organizations to help flooded victims

Several groups in and outside the Metro have launched donation drives and relief operations to support communities impacted by the storm. You may opt to send monetary donations or other essential items such as food, hygiene kits, clothing, and sleeping mats to any of the organizations listed below; some are also welcoming volunteers.
