(SPOT.ph) Heads up, motorists! Several roads in Pasay City will be closed or rerouted from October 24 to November 20 in preparation for the 49th Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit.
The Pasay City government has released several advisories on road closures and suspension of activities in and around the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

Road closures, traffic management for 2026 ASEAN Summit
The Philippines is chairing ASEAN this year, hence the Summit will be held in Manila. The road closures will be implemented to maintain security and order during the event.
From October 24 to November 9, Macapagal Boulevard, World Trade Center, Diokno Boulevard, and parts of Roxas Boulevard will be partially closed. The same roads will be fully closed from November 9 to 20 when the summit culminates.
If you work in the area, you will still be allowed to enter and pass through during the closure periods, as long as you show your valid company ID and follow security protocols.
As of writing, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has not specified which exact sections of the aforementioned roads will be partially closed. We'll be sure to update this article once more details are available!

Aside from the road closures, commuters should also take note that the designated bus lanes around PICC and CCP will be used as "ASEAN lanes" to prioritize the official vehicle motorcades of the delegations.
The affected roads are also popular routes for fun runs, including the Garmin Run 2026, which has already announced its postponement to December 13. Meanwhile, the World Trade Center is scheduled to host Event Expo 2026 on October 28 to 29 and Lee Ji-Hoon's fan meet on November 7.
With these restrictions in place, expect heavier than usual traffic around the affected roads. The Pasay City government also advises commuters to allow extra travel time due to possible rerouting.
The ASEAN Summit is a biannual, three-day policy conference attended by heads of state and delegations from all ASEAN member-states. US President Donald Trump is also confirmed to attend. The last time the Philippines hosted the ASEAN was in 2017 under then-President Rodrigo Duterte.
Given the scale of the event, the main conference days of November 16 to 18 were declared as special non-working holidays in Metro Manila.
