Getting a Concessionary Beep Card? You’ll Have to Wait Until After the Holidays
Issuance is paused to allow for system maintenance this season.

(SPOT.ph) Thinking of getting a concessionary Beep card soon? Heads up: Beep is putting a pause on the issuance of these cards at train stations from today, December 22 until January 4 next year.

Beep pauses issuance of concessionary cards
The pause is meant to make space for essential system maintenance, Beep writes on Facebook. “To allow for system maintenance and upkeep during the year-end holiday season, the Concessionary Card Issuance Program will temporarily suspend its operations on all stations of LRT 1. LRT 2, and MRT 3 during this period.”
Beep card issuance will be back by January 5, 2026.
The concessionary Beep card automatically gives eligible patrons—that includes senior citizens, students, and persons with disabilities—a 50% discount on their train fare through its “tap-in, tap-out” mechanism: simply tap the card against the readers at the entrance and exit gates. The cards are valid for four years from the date they were issued.
