New Trinoma Wing 'The Exchange' to Connect to the Unified Grand Central Station

(SPOT.ph) North EDSA isn't exactly known for being a relaxing place to transfer. Between the MRT, buses, UV Express vans, mall walkways, and crowds moving in every direction, getting from one ride to another can feel hellish. Soon, Trinoma’s new wing could make that commute experience a little less chaotic—with a direct link to the common station.

Ayala Malls is expanding Trinoma with The Exchange, a new 40,000-square-meter retail and office wing that will connect directly to the Unified Grand Central Station, the upcoming common station in North EDSA.

Yup, that Unified Grand Central Station meant to connect to the MRT-3, LRT-1, and the MRT-7, the upcoming 22-kilometer rail line with 14 stations from North Avenue, Quezon City to San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. It's also reportedly connected to other public transport options in the area, including UV Express vans, buses, and point-to-point services.

The Exchange at Trinoma is expected to open as soon as later this year. It will have around 12,000 square meters of retail space, 4,000 square meters of office space, plus a parking and transit terminal. One of the confirmed tenants is ABC-Mart Grand Stage, which will open its first location in the North at the new wing.

The expansion comes as the Unified Grand Central Station moves toward full completion by 2027—that is, if everything goes to plan—alongside the MRT-7 line. The common station has been in the works since 2017, but one major section later stalled. As of April 2026, the station was 67.98% complete, with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) targeting completion by the second quarter of 2027.

For LRT-1 riders, the key change is that the line’s northern end will no longer feel cut off from Trinoma. Right now, LRT-1 runs up to Fernando Poe Jr. Station (formerly Roosevelt). Once the common station is completed, riders should be able to transfer to MRT-3 and eventually MRT-7 at the same station without having to walk long distances.

The Exchange is only one part of Ayala Malls’ recently launched reimagining of Trinoma, which also includes a refreshed Activity Center with a new LED screen, improved garden and open spaces, and a wider dining and café mix inside the mall.
