Bridgetowne Avenue Is Now John Gokongwei Jr. Boulevard
The road was renamed days before what would have been the late tycoon’s 100th birthday.

(SPOT.ph) A main road running through Bridgetowne Destination Estate is being renamed in honor of one of the most influential businessmen in the Philippines.
Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) officially renamed Bridgetowne Avenue as John Gokongwei Jr. Boulevard on August 5, just days before what would have been the late Gokongwei's 100th birthday on August 11.
"By naming the boulevard after him, we honor the timeless principles that Mr. John lived by: his discipline, his prudence, and his bold, unstoppable vision," RLC President and CEO Mybelle Aragon-GoBio said.

The renamed boulevard stretches about one kilometer through Bridgetowne, RLC's mixed-use estate spanning Quezon City and Pasig. It also includes a bridge connecting the two sides of the development, with The Victor—the 60-meter landmark sculpture inspired in part by Gokongwei’s life and legacy—standing nearby.
The boulevard is accessible via C-5 Road, Ortigas Avenue, and Amang Rodriguez Avenue.

Speaking at the ceremony, JG Summit President and CEO Lance Gokongwei said his father was remembered by his family and colleagues not only as a businessman, but also as a visionary.
"True vision isn't just about dreaming big—it's about having the grit and discipline to turn those dreams into reality for the service of others," Gokongwei said. "This avenue is more than a physical tribute or a name on a sign. It is a living reminder of the path my father paved for all of us."
John Gokongwei Jr., who founded what would become the Gokongwei Group, began supporting his family after his father's death at age 13. He went on to build a business empire that includes Universal Robina, Robinsons Land, Robinsons Retail, Cebu Pacific, and Summit Media, with interests spanning food manufacturing, real estate, retail, aviation, banking, and telecommunications. He died in 2019 at age 93.
