Why Is Everyone Obsessed With Jet2 Holidays?

doomscrolling lately has probably heard it at least once—maybe twice in the
same hour: “Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday!” So is it a real ad? A parody?
Just another dumb audio on Tiktok? We’re here to explain what’s going on.
What started as a travel
advertisement from the UK airline company has turned into one of the biggest internet sensations of 2025. Plenty of people even have it memorized word for word.
"Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday and
right now, you can save £50 per person. That's £200 off for a family of four! We've
got millions of free child place holidays available with 22 kilograms of
baggage included. Book now with Jet2 holidays. Package holidays you can trust!”
Set to Jess Glynne’s 2015 electronic track "Hold My Hand," the ad jingle was supposed to make you
want to book a sunny European getaway but the trend was anything but. TikTok
users began pairing the audio with clips of holiday nightmares—sunbeds collapsing,
sudden downpours, water sports accidents. All of it soundtracked by the most cheerful woman insisting your disaster was, actually, unbeatable.
While most of us are just discovering Jet2 holidays, the British have apparently been hearing that jingle on loop for what feels like forever.
“This advert is now embedded in
the British public’s minds after ten years of non-stop onslaught, even being
played in nightclubs up and down the country,” Tech Advisor editor Hannah
Cowton-Barnes was quoted as saying in Forbes.
Since virality struck, over 1.4
million videos now feature the sound, with more than 25,500 posts tagged
#nothingbeatsajet2holiday—easily making it one of the platform's most viral sounds of
the summer. At this point, the audio isn’t just about vacation disasters anymore. It's taken a life of its own to become the go-to soundtrack for anything remotely chaotic.
Jet2 has also embraced the marketing win. Instead of
distancing itself, the budget airline launched a TikTok lip-sync challenge, offering a
£1,000 holiday voucher as the grand prize, and even posted its own branded version of the trend audio.
The voice behind the audio is Zoë
Lister, a British actress best known for her role on British soap opera Hollyoaks. Fun fact: the Philippines even got a shoutout from Lister in a recent interview with the radio show Capital Breakfast.
"It's really gone completely nuts... The videos keep getting funnier. I thought, you know, it's got British appeal—we've got a good sense of humor—but then there's like Americans... and the Philippines!"

Founded in 2003, Jet2 is known for offering budget flights to popular European destinations. Aside from flights, Jet2holidays bundles hotel stays, airport transfers, and travel insurance into one booking.
