(SPOT.ph) It's true that the iPhone 17 series took up most of the spotlight during the recent Apple event—but there's more to the event than just the flagship smartphone line. Joining the latest drop (which deserves a big round of applause itself) are the AirPods Pro 3, with the world's best in-ear Active Noise Cancellation, and the Watch Series 11 and Watch Ultra 3, which are what we're going to shine the spotlight on this time. If you're into keeping track of your health 24/7 and having easy access to your notifications on your wrist, read on.

As we grow older, we come to prioritize health. Health is wealth, after all, and it's common to see people picking up fitness habits and activities—most, if not all, accompanied by a smartwatch on their wrist. For Apple users, there's an option within the ecosystem: the Apple Watch keeps you connected.

First things first, the look. The Apple Watch Series 11 is the thinnest Apple Watch yet. You might not be able to feel it on your wrist, and even in your sleep. Compared to the Series 10, it has a tougher glass screen (the toughest in the industry, no less) that is more scratch-resistant. As usual, there are dozens of faces and bands in different colors, styles, and materials that let users customize their watch.

The body itself has seven finishes, including a new Space Gray aluminum. And, for our besties who love some pink, a Rose Gold aluminum.

The Apple Watch Ultra 3, on the other hand, has two aerospace-grade titanium finishes in natural and black. It has wide-angle OLEDs for that brighter display, making it easier to see the details and features. It has a rugged titanium case and a display "crafted from sapphire crystal," a.k.a "one of the strongest naturally occuring materials on Earth." For the bands, you can choose between four versatile styles: Alpine Loop, Trail Loop, Ocean Band, and Titanium Milanese Loop that caters to different needs.

Sleep tracking, ECG app + more

A feature that's present in both the Watch Series 11 and the Ultra Watch 3 is the sleep score. It allows you to track, as well as improve, the quality of your sleep. Sleep is important to function well, after all. Your sleep duration will also be tracked, courtesy of the Vitals app that features heart rate, respiratory rate, wrist temperature, and blood oxygen. Since the Apple Watch 11 series is thin, you might not even feel it as you doze off.

The ECG app will give you high and low heart rate notifications, as well as notify you if it detects an irregular rhythm. The ECG app is accessible anytime, anywhere.

For all the girlies, you can also easily keep track of your menstrual cycle, and even get retrospective ovulation estimates for those who are planning for a family.

Battery capacity

The Apple Watch Series 11 offers up to 24 hours of normal use on a full charge and up to 38 hours in Low Power Mode. Your 15-minute fast charge can get you up to eight hours of use.

You can get more use out of the Apple Watch Ultra 3, with up to 42 hours of normal use. In Low Power Mode, it can even go up to 72 hours. If you're working outdoors with full GPS and heart rate readings at work, you can get up to 14 hours. To go from zero to 80% charge, all you need is 45 minutes of charging.

Fitness

The Apple Watch 11 Series has a refreshed workout app, which makes it easier for you to access features like Pacer, Race Route, and Custom Workout.

The Apple Watch Ultra 3, on the other hand, is said to have the "best GPS in a sports watch." It also monitors your every move, even your transitions between sports. Speaking of sports, think accessible apps for snowboarding, skiing, mountain biking, rowing, and a whole lot more to track in the Ultra 3.

This new iteration is also perfect for those who love hiking. Take, for example, its Backtrack feature, which uses GPS data to track and retrace your steps on your path. You can add waypoints, too! You can also download offline maps in case the signal gets too spotty where you're at.
