Did You Know Baby Monkey Punch's Stuffed Toy Is From IKEA?
The stuffed orangutan has gone viral with Punch.

(SPOT.ph) It's safe to assume that the whole world is rallying behind the baby macaque Punch and his heartbreaking situation at the Ichikawa City Zoological and Botanical Gardens in Japan. Videos of him being "scolded" by other monkeys went viral, with netizens sympathizing with the baby monkey and the stuffed toy he sought comfort from every time it happened. ICYDK, that stuffed orangutan toy can be found at IKEA.

Punch's comfort toy from IKEA's Djungelskog line
If you've been doomscrolling like us on social media, there's a 100% chance that you've fallen into a 3 a.m. rabbit hole just watching him and his journey, crying over his videos. Your heart would have ached for the baby monkey, more so after learning that he had been rejected by his birth mother, and then got ignored and, well, "scolded" by other monkeys once he got inside the zoo.
In these viral videos, Punch is seen hugging and lugging around a stuffed toy orangutan that was given to him. This toy is actually from the DJUNGELSKOG collection, which is a popular line of jungle-themed plush toys from IKEA. One of the popular items on the list is the brown bear, and now, it looks like the orangutan is climbing to the top.
Like how it has done for Punch, the DJUNGELSKOG line is meant to provide comfort to not just kids and adults—and now, also baby monkeys like Punch. Following Punch—and by extension, the stuffed orangutan's—virality, IKEA actually donated "a huge number of them" to the Ichikawa Zoo.
The stuffed toy orangutan from the DJUNGELSKOG line can actually be found at the IKEA flagship store in Pasay City for P699. It's already out of stock online. It also has a feature where you can hang it on a shelf or around a bag, courtesy of the touch-and-close fastening on its hands and feet.
There's also a mini version of it for only P119.
According to the Ichikawa Zoo updates, more and more people are visiting the establishment, with long lines and crowds around the Monkey Mountain.
Over the last few days, Punch has been seen being cared for by other monkeys and "steadily fitting into the group." Continuous updates regarding Punch's condition can be seen through the zoo's X page, detailing the monkey's progress inside the enclosure, and wishes everyone could cheer Punch, as well as his stuffed toy plushie, on their journey.
The Ichikawa Zoo was also quick to assure the people watching over Punch that even though Punch has been scolded by other monkeys, "no single monkey has shown serious aggression toward him."
They added in a statement, "While Punch is scolded, he shows resilience and mental strength. When you observe these disciplinary behaviors from other troop members toward Punch when he tries to communicate with them, we would like you to support Punch's efforts rather than feel sorry for him."
Punch was born on July 26, 2025, and has been living in the troop since January 19, 2026.
Where to find IKEA's DJUNGELSKOG stuffed toy
You can find the DJUNGELSKOG series online through IKEA's website. The IKEA flagship store is also located at Marina Way, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay. They're open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday to Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
