Open-Ear Buds, Foldable Phone + More: What Dropped at HUAWEI's Launch

(SPOT.ph) Fresh out the oven: Chinese tech giant HUAWEI just launched the latest of their fashion-forward devices. We're talking the full range—foldable phone, tablet, and wearables like smartwatches and earbuds, all in one event. Tech enthusiasts watched it unfold (pun intended) yesterday, February 19, at The Fifth at Rockwell.

Packed into more than two hours through a striking runway show, HUAWEI introduced not just one, two, or three—but six devices at the launch, with the HUAWEI Mate X7, MatePad 11.5 S 2026, and the FreeClip 2 leading the charge. The launch was also graced by well-known personalities, who each shared their first-hand experiences with the products. 

Take, for example, Jericho Rosales, who named his HUAWEI Mate X7—the King of Foldables, they call it—“Larry” (because when slightly folded, it’s shaped like an L, he very kindly explained), and shared how Larry makes balancing work as a veteran actor and a producer, and life, when he’s in his “wanderer mode,” manageable. The wide—8” in full glory, no less—screen also makes it easier to multitask, and Jericho can easily attend meetings on one half and take notes on the other.

A bit of rain? Water? Dust? The HUAWEI Mate X7 can survive them, thanks to its IP58 and IP58 splash-, water-, and dust-resistant rating. Go take your selfies by the beach or pool, it doesn't matter! It can withstand hot water temperatures up to 80°C and fresh water depths of up to 2 meters. What matters is that you take the most beautiful, most vivid photos through the phone's 50-megapixel Ultra Lighting HDR Camera.

For the battery, it's packed with 5600mAh—which can get you roughly 1.5 to two days, depending on the use. But still, that's a lot of your favorite show's episodes in one sitting.

Speaking of multitasking and overall productivity, no one will help you do it better than HUAWEI's tablets. They also launched the latest in their MatePad line, the HUAWEI MatePad 11.5 S 2026 Tablet, which is really just a lighter, more portable PC. It comes with a detachable smart keyboard, and you can add the HUAWEI M-Pencil (3rd Generation) and the HUAWEI Bluetooth Mouse, and you're good to work wherever and whenever.

Floating windows that allow you to open a lot of apps in one go, and equation recognition and PDF import for your notes? You can get them all in the Huawei MatePad 11.5 S 2026. It's also equipped with PC-level WPS Office 3.0 for your docs and presentations. Using the tablet won't be too straining to the eyes, thanks to the ultra-clear PaperMatter Display that has anti-glare and anti-reflection.

This tablet has an 8,800mAh battery capacity and can get you six to 12 hours of use. For high brightness, heavy use can get you six to seven. You can juice it up with the 40W SuperCharge.

"Never feel, never fall," is the motto of HUAWEI's third product, the HUAWEI FreeClip 2. It's an open-ear pair of earbuds that you, well, clip around your ear rather than slip inside your ear (which can be pretty uncomfortable for some, especially when doing strenuous activities like working out or sports). It can get a little complicated to put on for a first-timer like us, but once you get the hang of it, you're also good to go.

The case is now more boxy, and it has an improved and softer C-bridge made of liquid silicone and shape-memory alloy. Each bud weighs only 5.1 grams. Despite being open-eared, it has an adaptive volume feature that automatically adapts to your environment to keep audio clear and crisp.

Hands full? You can answer or reject calls with just a nod with these buds. If you're clumsy like we are and drop them while you're out and about, don't worry, you will get notified (both with a text and a tone) to tell you that "Hey! You're missing one!" Never lose a bud ever again. And yes, it's compatible with both iOS and Android.

But that's not all. You can even accessorize these buds—hurrah for all the anik-anik lovers!—with cool and unique charms. You can hang accessories (also available upon purchase) on the C-bridge of your earbuds. It looks like a cool piercing without the pain.

The HUAWEI Flagship Product Launch also saw the official drop of the HONMA x HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 Pro, the HUAWEI Band 11 Series, and the FreeBuds 7i.

The HUAWEI Mate X7, now available for pre-order and in Nebula Red and Black, is priced at P119,999 (16GB+512GB) and is available online through HUAWEI's website. It's P109,999 on Shopee.

Starting February 19 until March 22, the HUAWEI MatePad 11.5 S 2026 will be available online and in stores from P31,999 to P29,999. It's available in Green and Space Gray and is priced at P29,490 on Shopee. The HUAWEI FreeClip 2 Wireless Earbuds, on the other hand, are available in Blue, Black, and White, and are priced at P9,490 on Shopee.
