LOOK: POP MART Opens First Permanent Store in the Philippines

(SPOT.ph) Throughout 2025, POP MART has opened pop-up after pop-up after pop-up in the Metro. It was true to the promise of what POP MART's Southeast Asia and Middle East Director, Jeremy Lee, said to us during the first pop-up in SM Mall of Asia: "Watch out for big, big plans," he said, also hinting at a permanent outpost in the same year. With a few days left in 2025, they have finally opened the doors to the first official physical store in SM Megamall. They aren't going anywhere this time.

Avid collectors and new fans alike hopped from one spot to another to find their prio figurines; planning their visits carefully, because, as you know, pop-ups run for a few months at most. Stocks, too, can fly off the shelves as fast as your eyes could blink.

We got the first pop-up in the SM Mall of Asia. Then, another in SM Makati. SM Aura got one that's both an exhibit and a pop-up, featuring our space girl MOLLY. Recently, and we mean just last week, a cozy, cafe-themed pop-up sprouted in the middle of The Block in SM North Edsa. So far, POP MART has traveled to the South, then the North. This time around, for the permanent store, they are putting down their roots in the Middle. Yep, right within everyone's reach.

POP MART's first permanent store in the country covers about two stores—about 300 square meters of retail space, to be exact. The space is wide and open, which makes it easier for every mallgoer who passes by to have a glimpse of the vast and beautiful world of POP MART. The next thing you know, you have a blind box of a character in your hand. The official opening of the store is tomorrow, December 19, giving you some time to shop before Christmas.

More than just a place that sells merchandise, the store also features cool installations that you can snap a picture or two with. One of those is a huge Hirono statue, which is also a blind box collectible from one of Hirono's series: Echo. On the other side, Kasing Lung's The Monsters character, Labubu, takes the spotlight, with the space looking like a photo studio. You can also spot more Labubus of various types and sizes in the middle display.

The gang's all here (and finally, they won't ever leave): Labubu, Skullpanda, Dimoo, Hirono, CRYBABY, Hacipupu, and MOLLY are present. Each POP MART character has spaces and shelves dedicated to them along with their wide range of merch. We know you would recognize them anywhere, but for those who are new to the characters (or avid fans who want to adopt, err, collect a new character) or you’re a curious passerby, the characters' lore and stories from their creators can be found on the shelves so you can get to know them better. Each character has blind box series and merchandise you can get your hands on.

Another character that's been a star, both figuratively and literally, to a lot of collectors for the past few months (especially across China) is Twinkle Twinkle. This rosy-cheeked, star character is created by artist Da Xin, and you can find its blind box figures—as well as cute items like phone cases, phone straps, tumblers, and a whole lot more—in store.

Familiar Disney faces are also transformed into blind box figures here at POP MART, and you can find all of them in one space tucked in the corner, right in front of the cashier (tempting you to grab and pay in the blink of an eye). There are blind box figures of Mickey and Minnie Mouse and the rest of their friends, Donald and Daisy Duck, Goofy, and Pluto. Our friends from Zootopia 2 and Harry Potter (their cute, boxed versions called POP CUBE) are also in this area.

Behind it are blind boxes of characters from Evangelion, One Piece, Naruto, Teletubbies, League of Legends, and more. POP BEAN, too, which are like the micro-sized versions of POP MART's famous characters, can also be found inside the store. You can also get your hands on supersized collectibles here. The MEGA Collections are for sure the bold, centerpiece you need inside your space.

You can visit the store starting December 19, and you have to book a slot online to be one of the first to shop for the collectibles. Why be one of the first, you ask? Because there will be hot, limited-edition items on the day of. Just take, for example, the HIRONO x CLOT Yin-Yang Ceramic Incense Burner—which will only be given to 40 lucky collectors who will purchase any item on a single receipt. It's a rare collector's piece.

There's also a Meet & Greet with Hirono's creator, Lang, happening at the store on December 21, where fans can even have their Hirono figurines signed. Oh, what a once-in-a-lifetime chance to have your collectibles signed by the artist himself!

POP MART's first permanent store in the Philippines is located on the second floor of Building A, SM Megamall, EDSA, corner Dona Julia Vargas Vanue, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong. You can also check out POP MART's full range online through their website as well as on their Shopee and Lazada pages.
