LOOK: The First Miniso Land in Thailand Is Now Open

(SPOT.ph) Ah, Siam Square. It's a top must-visit spot for all the shopaholics—and for those who love a good time, in general—visiting Bangkok, Thailand, since there's so much to see and buy (RIP, wallets). It's a vibrant district where you can have the best of all worlds—malls that carry both homegrown and international brands, local and street vendors, great food options, and entertainment venues and activities. You have to allot at least a few days to explore area if you want to make the most out of it.

Here's another reason to put Siam Square on your list when you visit the country: it's now also home to a three-story Miniso Land. It's a first of the experiential IP-based store for the country. They just opened last weekend, October 25, and we got to see the opening in person. Of course, we're taking you along with us.

Thailand's first Miniso Land is, as expected, just massive. It spans over 1,000 square meters across three floors, featuring more than 8,300 SKUs and over 80 IP characters. If you're into cute characters and merchandise, this is without a doubt your idea of heaven. They have many fan favorites like Harry Potter, Stitch, Sanrio, Barbie, as well as the latest one, Zootopia. Said IP products comprise 80% of the store, two floors to be exact. The rest is for Miniso's home and travel essentials.

It's not just the products; the store also features IG-worthy spots where tourists can take pictures in—from life-size statues to walls covered in their IPs. According to Vincent Huang, MINISO Overseas VP, Miniso Land, in general, is not just a standard retail space, but also a place where people can go and be inspired. You can go not just to buy stuff (but we're telling you, it'll be so hard to resist because everything is both cute and functional), but also immerse yourself in the experience.

It'll be hard not to notice such a massive and towering building. But that's not all that will lure you into stepping inside. If not the cutest bear peeking from the side (or even Stitch on one side), it's the equally massive 3D billboard that will show you the cutest IPs you can find inside. Please believe us when we tell you that it's impossible to go out without a bag in tow. Say goodbye to your budget.

First floor

From the entrance, we were greeted by our friends from Zootopia. This IP just made its overseas debut here in Thailand. Up front are, of course, our determined and sweet little bunny Judy Hopps and the charming, sly fox Nick Wilde in various merchandise. You name it, Miniso definitely has it. From practical home and everyday items like tumblers, house slippers, a comb, a mirror, bags, phone cases, pens (heck, a stationery set), socks, to the cutest huggable plushies and pillows.

But the merch is not just of Nick and Judy; we spotted some items featuring the fastest sloth in the DMV, a.k.a the Department of Mammal Vehicles. These are items that are not yet available in the Philippines, so if you're visiting Bangkok anytime soon, you might want to bring home one... or two... or four of the cutest Zootopia merch.

On both the first and second floors, there's a dedicated space for Miniso's IPs. On the first one, customers can see the adorable and ever-relatable Chiikawa; a wide range of Harry Potter and Stitch items; as well as Miniso's collection of popular Disney and Sanrio blind boxes. You can also spot some Toy Story items on this floor. Customers can also snap some photos with Nick Wilde and Stitch in some corners.

Second floor

On the second floor are, not surprisingly, more of Miniso's IPs. There are two staircases connecting the first and second floor, one of which is by the entrance and is a spot that's perfect for pictures. The walls and even the ceiling feature the Zootopia characters.

On this floor, you can see viral and Thailand-favorite Butterbear merch tucked in a corner. ICYDK, Butterbear is a super cute bear mascot named after another popular Thai bakery. Butterbear is another must-have merch while you're in Thailand, with both mascot and spot loved by locals and tourists alike.

You can spot the recent One Piece merch on this floor too, along with Powerpuff Girls, Barbie, BT21, and Crayon Shin-Chan. There's a whole lot of Peanuts stuff too, if you want to stock up in commemoration of their 75th anniversary this year! One Piece and Pokémon, as well as Care Bears, are also on this floor.

Another cult-fave figure is also joining in on the fun: Monchhichi, a.k.a the cutest stuffed monkey dolls from Japan. This floor also has some of Miniso Thailand's home fragrances and perfumes tucked in a corner.

Third floor

We're not done yet. We know Miniso is home to a lot of cute stuff, but it's also full of practical finds for everyday life. All of those are on the third and last floor of this massive Miniso wonderland. The third floor has the home and lifestyle, cosmetics, toys, and digital products, as well as Thailand-limited IPs like Dundun chicken and the softest, cutest merch featuring the Thailand elephant. If you're looking for the We Bare Bears merch, the trio's is also right here.

Speaking of home and lifestyle products, Miniso Land Thailand also has a chock full of travel essentials—so just in case you forgot to bring a few important items with you, say, sleeping masks, pouches, packing cubes, travel pillows, bottles for your liquids, socks, heck, even disposable underwear, they have it.

In this corner, there's also Miniso's range of cooling items. We know how hot and humid Southeast Asian countries can be. They've got wet wipes, cooling neck wraps, portable fans, cooling patches, sun protection, and cooling jackets, plus a whole lot more to beat the heat.

Miniso has opened around 15 Miniso Land locations in major cities around China, starting in Shanghai in 2024. According to Miniso, Thailand is a very strategically important market; flagship stores with new and exciting concepts have opened across Bangkok, like in ICONSIAM, MBK Center, The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi, Asiatique, The Riverfront, and Megabangna.

According to the press release, Miniso will continue to pursue this "Super IP + Super Store" strategy globally, and will continue to innovate in store design, "bringing store formats including Miniso Land and more to high-potential locations around the world." They also said that Miniso in the Southeast Asian region is thriving, with the Philippines growing quite well.

Miniso Land is a haven for all things cute and functional, and there's nothing more that we love than the best of both worlds. For Filipinos hopping on a flight to Bangkok, Thailand, soon, you might want to check out this massive wonderland. We're crossing our fingers that we get to have our own Miniso Land in the Philippines soon, but in the meantime, go and try to visit this newest spot while you're in the area.
