Everything We Know About OpenFit Pro, Shokz's Latest Open-Ear Headphones

(SPOT.ph) When it comes to open-ear headphones and earphones, Shokz is a top contender. The brand is popular among runners, sports, and fitness enthusiasts, thanks to its wide range of products that allows users to listen to tunes without compromising situational awareness and safety (which also makes them ideal for commutes). Just recently, Shokz launched its first headphone featuring clearer, louder audio with richer bass and more detailed sound—introducing the Shokz OpenFit Pro.

Open-ear headphones are audio devices that sit outside your ear and don't entirely block off your ear canal. This allows for more comfort, as they don't have silicone buds that cannot put pressure on your ear canal, and provides more situational and environmental awareness when walking or running outside, as the design lets ambient noise in. Shokz is known for its open-ear headphones made for specific needs, from bone conduction sports headphones to workout and lifestyle open earbuds. The OpenDots One, for example, is their version of open-ear, clip-on earbuds.

But of course, it all boils down to what you need at the end of the day. If you prefer more of these features from the traditional, tune-out-the-whole-world in-ears, especially if you're more of the active sort or have sensitive ears, then the OpenFit Pro could be your new best friend.

The OpenFit Pro is the first Shokz headphone to feature Open-Ear Noise Reduction. It reduces noise when you need to focus, but also keeps you aware of what's happening around you if you're one to listen to music when commuting. That way, you're connected to both your music and the outside world. It's safer and more convenient, just in case there's an announcement or when other people are calling you from behind.

It features an innovative synchronized dual-diaphragm driver called the Shokz SuperBoost—which provides rich detail, smooth highs, and deep lows. That, mixed with the Dolby Atmos, makes for a powerful, immersive sound.

For the Open-Ear Noise Reduction, a triple-mix system is combined with the brand's ear-adaptive algorithm to predict in-ear noise levels with precision. The brand developed a high-performance driver that then produces reverse sound waves that counter the noise. You can enable and adjust this via the app.

Clear sound is a given, but the OpenFit Pro also ensures clear calls, thanks to the triple-mic array powered by AI voice recognition. It reduces up to 99.4% of background noise. Too windy? Don't worry, these earphones have a custom wind-control tech and still make your calls clear even in up to 25km/h wind. Despite the open-ear design, the OpenFit Pro's sound-leak reduction tech—the DirectPitch 3.0—assures you that your audio remains private.

You can get 12 hours of listening time on a single charge. If you've turned on the noise reduction, you can get up to six hours. That's more than enough for your morning jogs and commutes. You also just need 10 minutes to charge for at least four hours of playtime. The case also supports Qi wireless charging.

The OpenFit Pro is also IP55 sweat and rain-resistant, with waterproof physical buttons. You can connect these to two devices, which allows for an easier transition listening from banging playlists to work calls and meetings.

You can adjust the noise reduction level and even customize button controls at the Shokz App. You can choose from five preset EQ modes (Standard, Vocal, Bass Boost, Treble Boost, and Private) or create two profiles that let you create a listening experience that's uniquely you. Misplaced your earphones? You can find them through the app, too.

Shokz's OpenFit Pro is available in two colors, both versatile enough to blend in with your ensembles. It has an enhanced fit that is still soft and comfortable even after hours of wear. We know ear shapes can be different, but the OpenFit Pro matches the contours of different ear shapes, and come with optional support accessories for very intense workouts.

The Shokz OpenFit Pro is available for P14,990 or P2,498.33 per month for six months with select credit cards at Power Mac Center. According to PMC, it's not yet available online but in stores.
