(SPOT.ph) Local brand Side B Upcycling started using old tarpaulins to make durable bags and pouches. Then, they stepped into the footwear scene with more tarps (the reflective ones) and other upcycled materials like vintage fabric, flour sacks, burlap, to name a few, for slip-ons and sneakers. Another sophisticated and classic silhouette joins the list, featuring discarded coffee jute sacks. Introducing the EcoStep Flats. Pre-orders are ongoing.

Safe to say we're all a little bit in love with classic flats these days, along with its hybrid forms. The sneakerinas, for one, are still making waves. Everyone and their mothers already have a pair of their own, and frankly, it can be a challenge to stand out—but not with the EcoStep Flats.
The EcoStep Flats (P2,950) feature a wide opening with two straps, which allows for easier slipping in and out with extra comfort and security. Each pair discarded coffee jute sacks, reclaimed deadstock vintage fabric, as well as genuine leather off-cuts and rebonded recycled foam.
The body, which is predominantly made out of coffee jute sacks, adds texture and a natural vibe to the pair. Details on the toe and heel are patched up with nude genuine leather off-cuts. The straps, on the other hand, are in darker colors, standing out from the rest of the pair. There's an orange lining wrapped around the opening for contrast and a dash of color.
In true flats fashion, the wide opening of the silhouette allows its wearers to show off their cutest socks. That, combined with the distinctive upper and sustainable approach to shoe-making, means you won't just be turning heads but starting meaningful conversations.
