The charm of film cameras comes in the fact that the most beautiful shots are often happy accidents. Still, film is easy to waste if you’re a newbie and those rolls are pretty expensive. Half-frame film cameras give double the shots in a frame, which cuts the cost for film in half. Room for error aside, it also gives photos a unique look with that two-in-one setup. Each pair is P13,495 and only comes in black for now, but our fingers are crossed that more colorways will be available soon.

If you haven’t heard of Portuguese footwear brand VIBAe, allow us to make the introduction. Finnish-Californian VIBAe is founded by friends and family who believe in running a company their way, sans all the HR intervention. Their shoes are equally laidback, as evidenced by the Amalfi pair in Cognac Brown, priced at P14,900. The shoe is handcrafted from Portuguese vegetable-tanned leather strips and a Carbon Step antimicrobial contoured footbed for maximum comfort. It’s responsibly-made, and easy to slip on and off for days in the city and by the beach. It also has an adjustable strap so you can get a perfect and snug fit every time.

Some bags are unique enough to do the talking for you. Filipino designer Zarah Juan and her collection of eccentric bags doesn’t just carry personality, it also honors Filipino culture with silhouettes taking inspiration from familiar furniture and tools from daily life like the radio, and old telephone, and a stack of books. Our favorite has to be the Jeepney Tote Bag, which is quite literally shaped like the actual jeepneys we see on the road. Handcrafted by Cavite artisans, each bag features a handwoven Inabel lining from Abra and straps made by Benguet weavers. It’s all later assembled by bagmakers in Bulacan, making each step an homage to local craftsmanship. It’s usually P7,000 for a bag, but it’s P5,950 until the end of August as part of the designer’s annual birthday sale.
