(SPOT.ph) Almost everyone is into HYROX nowadays. If folks aren't looking for a partner for the next race or training for another one, some are likely trying their shot at it or looking to improve their results. Newbies, fear not. This is a safe space. HYROX is a series of movements and stations designed to test and push bodies to the limit, so it's totally reasonable to be apprehensive of going in blind. We have a HYROX guide for beginners to get you started, but like most workouts and activities, some accessories, gear, and equipment may be required or good to have so you can engage safely and perform to the best of your abilities. Of course, we got you covered.

Everybody is different so what works for some might not necessarily work out for you, so don't feel too pressured if you don't find yourself owning everything other people use. While we do have some recommendations, rest easy knowing you don't need to get everything on the list if you already have something similar or you prefer something else.
PUMA Velocity NITRO 4 Running Shoes
While it's recommended to go for a solid carbon-plated shoe, which helps with running efficiency and higher energy return, it may be too expensive for first-time participants and those who are still getting into the sport. Everyone will have an opinion on which shoe to wear for training or the big race, but really, it all boils down to what works for you.
That said, opt for a shoe that can provide stability for lunges and burpees and enough grip and traction for the sled push. It's also important to remember that a big portion of the race is running, so the pair has to support you as you move. The PUMA Velocity NITRO 4 Running Shoes for Women at P7,600 are widely accessible and retail for less than P10,000, and while that's not exactly cheap, it's still a bang for the buck. It's also available in men's sizes.

Hydro Flask Wide 32oz Wide Flex Straw Cap Tumbler
The best tumbler is the one you'll actually use so anything that carries water, protein supplements, and beverages of your choice is good enough. If you're in the market for a jug that not only keeps drinks cool or hot but also has a large enough capacity, look no further than the Hydro Flask Wide 32oz Wide Flex Straw Cap tumbler in Sandpiper which retails for P2,890. It comes with a spout to sip water from and a handle so you can bring it anywhere and everywhere. The tumbler can also be opened and closed with one hand, so you optimize that quick sip before returning to training.

PUMA x HYROX Graphic Tee for women
While we're advocates of 100% cotton pieces, a Hyrox race is not the time to sport a shirt made from the all-natural material, as it gets heavy with all the sweat and takes a while to dry. Go for a moisture-wicking shirt that fits snug on the body to prevent snags. The PUMA x HYROX Graphic Tee for Women is P2,200 and has flatlock stitching for less friction, along with dryCELL tech to keep you dry. Some opt to train or race with just a bra, but in case you need a cover-up, this is a safe option.

PUMA x HYROX Essentials Tights for women
The best bottoms for training and racing are compression tights, leggings, or fitted athletic shorts with 5- to 7-inch inseams. Ideal for a diverse range of movement, they stay secure during lunges, won't catch on equipment, and can prevent chafing while running. The PUMA x HYROX Essentials Tights for Women is P3,000 and was designed with the race in mind. Equipped with a hidden waistband and dryCELL tech to keep the body cool, the high-rise fit tights support and flatter, because looking good during the big day can also have you feeling good, too. For men, we spotted the PUMA x HYROX DRYELITE Base Layer Tights at P3,500 that feels like a second skin so you can focus solely on the race.
Shorts can also be worn, just be sure to avoid long and baggy pieces that could weigh you down or catch on things.
Both the women's tights and men's tights are available on the PUMA Philippines website.
Philips Mini Massage Gun
Body aches are, well, a pain, and though you can't will it away with a snap of a finger, you can definitely help your body recover properly. This Mini Massage Gun from Philips is P1,267 and has six levels of strength and four different massage heads so you can target different areas and choose the ideal intensity for specific pain points. It's also pretty lightweight and compact, so you can bring it anywhere and everywhere, plus it has a battery of life of up to 120 minutes. Pain is part of the process, but at least you can get a quick massage whenever you need it!

Amazfit Bip 6 Smartwatch
If you already have a smartwatch, chances are it already has the basic functions to log data from training. Of course, those chasing personal bests and podium spots will want a smarter watch that can extract very specific data points, but if you're a newbie, then the Amazfit Bip 6 Smartwatch at P5,399 is a reasonable place to start. It has a vibrant 1.97" AMOLED display, 24/7 biotracker technology, and can run over 140 different workout modes. It's still a smartwatch, so it can support daily functions like notifications, calls, texts, and yes, telling the time. Take your pick from neutral shades like Black, Charcoal, and Stone, or more fun colorways like Red and Blush.
