(SPOT.ph) Binondo is always in everyone’s Manila itinerary, what with its never-ending stream of food spots and rich Filipino-Chinese heritage. But if you’re planning to head there anytime soon, there’s a new stop that you shouldn’t miss, especially if you like bringing home a unique keepsake from your trips.

Hot off the presses! The Newspaper Photobooth by Red Studio is the latest addition to everyone’s Chinatown itinerary. Sitting on a corner of Plaza San Lorenzo Ruiz across from Binondo Church, this big red photobooth, decked out in an old-newspaper rack aesthetic, invites visitors to appear on the front page of their very own Manila story.
At this unique photobooth, you can strike a pose and bring home your very own Binondo-themed front-page newspaper print starting at P150. Each payment gets you a printed copy of the snap framed like a daily frontpager, plus digital JPEG copies, and a GIF of your shoot experience via a QR code.
Don’t like the first shot? You can do two retakes per session just to get that front-page-worthy shot. It’s a fun, one-of-a-kind souvenir to bring home after your Chinatown visit with friends and family.
As of writing, there's currently only one template available for print at the photobooth. Created by local artist Ina Doodles, the frame, dubbed the "Prosperity Issue," features a masthead reading "Binondo: Love, Laughter, and Lucky Shots," a small map of the Binondo neighborhood, and two sidebars featuring scenes from Chinatown. But if this isn't your style, Red Studios just announced that more templates are also on the way, so we'll just have to stay tuned to see what's in store.
The newly launched Binondo-exclusive photobooth is also open 24/7, ready to capture your headline-worthy moments in Asia’s oldest Chinatown at any time. According to Red Studio, the photobooth will be in this spot until the end of the month. So best to head over while it's still around. Fingers crossed they extend it though!
