This Event Lets You Learn Over Drinks on Your Next Night Out

(SPOT.ph) Learning doesn't stop just because you’re done with school. It just looks a little different now as an adult—and no, we don’t mean signing up for another online course that eventually becomes a chore to finish. Who says it has to be so serious anyway? Say, why not learn over drinks at a bar?

That’s the idea behind Think Responsibly, a curated talk series that makes learning feel more like an after-work hangout. Each session brings together two experts—people like brand founders, professors, scientists and the like—for a night of fun learning all while having a drink in a partner bar.

Think of it like a more relaxed and casual version of a TED Talk.

Topics range from pretty much everything. Previous session covered questions like: How can different pasta shapes affect your dining experience? How can you plan a travel itinerary to maximize experiences? What is the art behind influencing other people? How can you earn smarter in the hustle economy?

Each talk runs a little over 30 minutes, followed by a short Q&A session with the audience. After that, from 9 p.m. onwards, guests are free to stay, mingle, and listen to music from the night’s DJ.

Think Responsibly holds two sessions a month, happening on any day of the week depending on the pre-assigned schedule. Each one combines two speakers from very different fields, so you can bounce from one topic to another in a single night.

The registration fee is P1,000 per person, which comes with a drink and a snack. Slots are highly limited, so it’s best to register through the official form to secure a seat for the night.

If you’re curious about Think Responsibly, there’s a session coming up. It’s happening on July 23 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Bugsy’s in Salcedo Village, Makati City. Toni Gozum-Ticsay will lead “The Art of Color Grading,” a talk on how color shapes emotion and enhances storytelling. Afterward, Mel Nava will take the mic to discuss “Taking Filipino SMEs Worldwide,” which looks at how local entrepreneurs can build brands that compete on the global stage.

Think Responsibly is also heading to more locations starting in August. After its Makati and BGC run, the event will make its way to Ortigas on August 8, with a session at Gallery Bar in Crowne Plaza.
