Victory Liner Suspends Trips on Select Routes Following LTFRB Order

(SPOT.ph) Passengers taking Victory Liner will need to check schedules more carefully in the coming days, as the bus company said some trips on certain routes will be suspended following an order from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

Victory Liner said in a statement that a 30-day suspension from the LTFRB will affect 26 bus units serving three routes: Dagupan-Baguio, PITX-Tuguegarao, and Sta. Cruz, Zambales-Baguio. This comes after a fatal road crash in Tuba, Benguet on May 30 that killed one passenger and injured more than 90 others.

Since both buses involved were operated by Victory Liner, the company said it will comply with the temporary suspension and cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

Victory Liner apologized to passengers affected by the suspension.

“Sa aming mga minamahal na pasahero at mga komunidad na aming pinaglilingkuran, taos-puso po kaming humihingi ng paumanhin sa abala at pagkaantala maidudulot ng pansamantalang suspensyong ito. Nauunawaan namin na maraming manggagawa, estudyante, pamilya, turista, at mga negosyante ang umaasa sa mga rutang ito araw-araw, at lubos naming ikinalulungkot ang anumang hirap na kanilang mararanasan sa panahong ito,” the company said in a statement.

Still need to make the trip? Don't worry, Northern Luzon passengers affected by Victory Liner's suspension may still have options from other bus operators. As always, it's still best to confirm schedules with the bus company or terminal before heading out.

For the Dagupan-Baguio route, passengers can check Solid North Transit, which operates one daily trip from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Those taking the PITX-Tuguegarao route can opt for GV Florida. Daily trips are scheduled at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. from PITX and 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. from Tuguegarao—all using deluxe buses. Another option is Five Star, though not a direct PITX replacement. The operator lists Pasay-Tuguegarao trips at 8 p.m., with return trips from Tuguegarao to Pasay at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Unfortunately, there does not appear to be a similar route to Sta. Cruz, Zambales-Baguio from other operators based on available online schedules.
