Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips is just one of two new Gordon Ramsay restaurants that just opened in The Mactan Newtown in Cebu (the other being Street Burger by Gordon Ramsay). Already, it's making big waves as it serves up the British classic—you guessed it—fish and chips, among other equally exciting treats that you'll love eating on the beach: there's soft-taco style sandwiches, fries, and for the sweet-toothed looking to cool off, milkshakes.
What's more: you can actually get your fish and chips to go and eat them on The Mactan Newtown Beach, and if that doesn't sound like just the cherry on top of a great beach day... well, we insist that it is.

It's not just fish with the chips—there's chicken, shrimp, and more

The Combos on the Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips menu are comprised of, well, fish & chips combos that come with Koffmann's Fries plus two sauces that best complement the protein in your combo. Of course, there's the Fish Combo (P438)—yes, the famous fish & chips—that comes with Gordon's tartar sauce and Sriracha aioli. It's battered white fish that's been deep-fried to perfection, and you can't go wrong with this classic.

However, just below it on the menu, you'll see another Philippine-exclusive offering: the Lapu-Lapu Combo (P650), which is a twist on the fish & chips. It's made with locally sourced lapu-lapu, and whereas the Fish combo gives you a light bite, the Lapu-Lapu combo highlights the distinct, delicate flavor of the fish it's named after. You might expect oiliness because of the way it's cooked, but you actually get a clean, delicious, juicy bite just inside the crispy crust.

Apart from the fish, you can also get the Shrimp Combo (P550), which is served with sour cream and honey jalapeno aioli. Don't be deceived: these are big, sweet, juicy pieces, and though they look like a snack, they can be quite filling! You can also jazz it up with the Slipper Lobster & Fish (P698) or Slipper Lobster & Shrimp (P798), which come with Sriracha aioli and Gordon's tartar sauce. You'd think that, for something that comes with shrimp, the slipper lobster might taste the same—but you'd be wrong. The slipper lobster has a distinctly smokier bite that you'll enjoy just as much as the lighter-flavored shrimp or fish.

If you're not up for seafood, there's the Chicken Combo (P398) that comes with avocado cream and Gordon's tartar sauce. This is similar to Gordon Ramsay's G.F.C chicken patty at Street Burger (in a good way!)—it's got a crispy crust that gives way to soft, juicy chicken meat that has just a little kick of heat to it.

There are three kinds of sandwiches, or Swich as you'll find on the Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips menu. In Filipino parlance, you might expect these to come in buns or loaf slices, but they're actually more similar to open-faced tacos; and just like the Combo menu, they look deceptively light on the stomach... but you'll find they're quite hefty, filling servings.

The Fishwich (P438) is filled the classic battered fish and topped with a tangy tomato salsa, and of course the Chickenwich (P350) is a non-seafood option that balances a bit of spice with fresh veggies. But if you love shrimp, then you can't afford to miss the Shrimpwich (P650), which is topped with a sweet and savory mango salsa (made from locally-sourced mangoes) that just adds that extra oomph to every bite.

If you're a fan of Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill's Sticky Toffee Pudding, you're in luck: you can also have this fan favorite dessert for P280 at Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips in Cebu. But if you're looking for the perfect contrast to the hot and crispy chips combo you're having, look no further than the Biscoff Milkshake (P280), which is made with their vanilla soft serve and Biscoff sauce, then topped with the quintessential Biscoff cookie.

There's lots of things to do in The Mactan Newtown—from lounging in luxurious resorts to basking on the beach—but if you're hankering for a little something new, something fun, and something uncomplicated-delish, then you won't regret dropping by Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips.
