(SPOT.ph) Filipino food continues to make waves within the prestigious world of the Michelin Guide. Not only has the Guide itself officially arrived in our shores, listing over 100 local spots during its first run; Filipino restaurants from other parts of the world have also gotten recognition in the Guide's editions in those countries. First up was Kasama in Chicago becoming a two-Star restaurant, and now we've got Hayop as a Michelin Selected Restaurant in Singapore.

Singapore's Filipino restaurant Hayop in the Michelin Guide
Hayop—a spin-off of the Moment Group's Filipino food venture Manam, located on Amoy Street in Singapore's Chinatown—is now on the Michelin Guide for Singapore, listed as part of its list of additions for November 2025.

The Guide writes of the restaurant's modern Filipino offerings and wood-accented space that has a "subtle maritime theme"—an ode to the rich culture of fishing in the Philippines. Of the dishes they give a special shoutout to are Hayop's Wagyu and Watermelon Sinigang, which boasts of a "tangy broth... and fall-off-the-bone braised beef short ribs" that's "especially satisfying with steamed rice"; and the Lechon de Leche or roast suckling pig that's good for sharing. "Asian-inspired fruit-forward cocktails round out the experience."

Hayop opened in 2024, serving classic and creative interpretations of Filipino classics, many with premium meats and other ingredients. Kinilaw-Cured Hamachi, Adobong Dilaw, and Manam's House Crispy Sisig are just some of the other dishes not to miss when dining at the restaurant.

For Trish, food is as much a source of pleasure and fuel as it is an outlet for creativity; a medium by which stories can be passed on; and a way to connect with others.
