Show Dates: July 26 to August 17, 2025
Where: Power Mac Center Spotlight Blackbox Theater
The Sandbox Collective is bringing Side Show to the Philippine stage. This Broadway cult classic by Dreamgirls composer Henry Krieger and American playwright Bill Russel follows conjoined twins Violet and Daisy Hilton in their rise to fame in the 1930s vaudeville entertainment circuit.
This production features a powerhouse cast of theater veterans and rising talents, including comedian Jon Santos, Reb Atadero, CJ Navato, Krystal Kane, Molly Langley, Tanya Manalang, Mayrnor Madamesila, Tim Pavino, and Vien King, breathing fresh life into the original 1997 version of the Tony-nominated musical.

Into the Woods

Where: Samsung Performing Arts Theater
Into the Woods takes the fairy tales you thought you knew—Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel—and gives them a darkly funny, musical twist. With music and lyrics by the legendary Stephen Sondheim, this Broadway favorite has racked up awards like the Tony for Best Score and a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album back in 1988, plus an Olivier Award for its 2011 revival.
For its Manila run, the musical pulls out all the stops with Lea Salonga leading an all-star cast that includes Eugene Domingo, Arielle Jacobs, Josh Dela Cruz, Nyoy Volante, Mikkie Bradshaw-Volante, and more theater powerhouses.
Tickets for Into the Woods start at P1,500 and can go as high as P6,000. As of writing, tickets for Into the Woods are sold out.

Quomodo Desolata Es? Isang Dalamhati

Quomodo Desolata Es? Isang Dalamhati is a reimagined take and return to the stage of Nick Joaquin’s Classic Play "A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino." This revisit was written by Jerry Respeto and Guelan Varela-Luarca, who also serves as the director.
Set in 1941 pre-World War II Intramuros, Quomodo Desolata Es? Isang Dalamhati follows sisters Paula and Candida Marasigan as they deal with the slow unraveling of their once-privileged lives. With their fortunes fading and their father, Don Lorenzo—a once-celebrated painter—retreating into isolation, the sisters are left to confront grief, change, and the looming shadow of war.
The show stars Gab Pangilinan as Paula Marasigan and Delphine Buencamino as Candida Marasigan, with Omar Uddin, Vino Mabato, John Sanchez, and Brian Sy.

Sopranong Kalbo

The Bald Soprano is arguably one of the most important pieces of work in the Theatre of the Absurd, a dramatic genre that subverts theatrical convention and focuses on the meaninglessness of human existence.
Where: Rizal Mini Theater, Ateneo De Manila University
Sopranong Kalbo is Rolando Tinio's Filipino translation of The Bald Soprano, a French play written by playwright Eugène Ionesco.
The Bald Soprano is arguably one of the most important pieces of work in the Theatre of the Absurd, a dramatic genre that subverts theatrical convention and focuses on the meaninglessness of human existence.
This means you can expect a good time filled with hilarious confusion when you catch this translated classic featuring Joel Macaventa, Miren Alvarez-Fabregas, Joseph Dela Cruz, Pickles Leonidas, Gold Soon, and Yan Yuzon.

Don Quixote

Don Quixote is a popular ballet performed in three acts based on acts within Miguel de Cervantes' novel Don Quixote de la Mancha. It will also be Ballet Manila's closing show for their Pearl Season.
This ballet was originally choreographed by one of the most notable ballet masters in history, Marius Petipa, to the music of the Austrian composer of ballet music, Ludwig Minkus.
The story features the titular Don Quixote, his sidekick Sancho Panza, and the lovers Kitri and Basilio. Ever a romantic and a sucker for chivalry, Don Quixote helps an innkeeper's daughter, Kitri, escape an arranged marriage with a rich nobleman to be with her beloved, Basilio, a barber.
Ballet Manila's show features principal dancers from Russia’s Mariinsky Ballet: Kimin Kim, the first Asian male principal dancer of the company, and prima ballerina Renata Shakirova.

Kaliwaan

Where: The Mirror Studio Theater
Kaliwaan, a Filipino translation of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal by Guelan Varela-Luarca. This production follows the original plot of Pinter's 1978 drama, which traces the unraveling of Robert and Emma’s marriage after Emma starts an affair with Jerry—Robert’s friend. This play covers nine years that play out in reverse chronological order, which allows audiences to follow along as we see details of the affair, how it blossomed, and how it was inevitably doomed from the start.
Produced by Stages Production Specialists, Kaliwaan is directed by Loy Arcenas and stars Missy Maramara, Ron Capinding, and Nor Domingo.

Walang Aray

Walang Aray is all-original Filipino musical based on the 1902 sarsuwela Walang Sugat by Severino Reyes. This modern musical upgrade is courtesy of multi-awarded playwright Rody Vera, with its music and lyrics by Vince Lim. Walang Aray refreshes the OG piece's narrative, describing the Filipinos' struggles under 333 years of Spanish occupation by highlighting romantic narratives and satirical storylines laced with social commentary.

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in Concert

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in Concert features a screening of the complete film on a 40-foot screen, with its GRAMMY award-winning score and soundtrack played live by the Philippines' own Filharmonika Orchestra and conducted by Maestro Gerard Salonga.

The girls of Le Sserafim—Chaewon, Sakura, Yunjin, Kazuha, and Eunchae—are driving by Manila to give Fearnots the perfect night. They've been on a roll with their Easy Crazy Hot Tour and live performances of their hit songs "Fearless," "Antifragile," and "HOT" are sure to set the stage of SM Mall of Asia Arena on fire. While we're at it, we hope the gals get their fix of Filipino snacks and food!

Where: New Frontier Theater
We're willing to bet you've had "coffee for your head" on repeat at one point in your life, and if you've been meaning to sing the words out loud in concert, now's your chance to catch artist Beabadoobee live. The Filipino-British singer is coming to Manila this August for a two-night show at the New Frontier Theater and can't wait to hear "the perfect pair," "glue song," and "Real Man" live.

EXO-Ls, it really does seem like the boys have assigned you a mission to collect them one by one. EXO member, soloist, and actor D.O., or Doh Kyung Soo, is coming to Manila for a solo concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena this month for his DO it! Asia Tour. His discography's full of gems like "That's Okay," "Rose," and "I Do," but our fingers are crossed for an EXO song, too.

Where: Skydome, SM City North Edsa
American alt-pop band Beach Weather, with lead vocalist Nick Santino, guitarist Sean Silverman, and bassist Reeve Powers, is coming to the Philippines for one night only. It's likely that you've heard the sped up version of their song "Sex, Drugs, Etc." courtesy of all the TikTok edits and Instagram reels, but the original version in the correct tempo is just as good. On the hunt for a new addition to your playlist? You'll want to queue up the band's song "Swoon."

The boys of Black Eyed Peas are pump it up at SM Mall of Asia Arena. Will.i.am, apl.de.ap, and Taboo are coming back to the Philippines on August 27 for the Manila stop of their tour, and we're willing to bet fans don't need to review lyrics once they hear the beat of the group's biggest hits. This is the "The Time (Dirty Bit)" to sing "Where Is the Love?" and "I Gotta Feeling" as loud as you possibly can.

Are you ready to match Tinashe's freak? The American singer-songwriter is bringing her earworm songs live at the New Frontier Theater for the Manila stop of her Match My Freak World Tour. Get ready for a night of vibes, dancing, and singing along as she rocks the crowd with her live performance of "Nasty," "No Broke Boys," "All Hands On Deck," "Needs," and "Throw A Fit."
