A Star Wars Concert Experience Is Coming This August

(SPOT.ph) Star Wars Day has come and gone, but that doesn't mean our love for the intergalactic Skywalker saga has to take a back seat.

Rebels, Jedi, and Sith lords, ready your lightsabers. Star Wars is headed back to the Philippines—this time as a live film concert experience. It's time to strap back in and get ready for another adventure in hyperdrive as we experience the music and cinema of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in concert this August. 

Here's what we know about Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in Concert:

The Star Wars Film Concert series returns to The Theatre at Solaire with Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in Concert on August 30, 6 p.m., and 31, 2 p.m.,  and 7:30 p.m. marking the second installment of the film concert franchise to hit our shores. 

ICYDK, in September 2024, Film Concerts PH also held two-day concerts featuring the first Star Wars flick,  A New Hope, and if we're to follow the correct—er, chronological order of watching the Star Wars saga, The Empire Strikes Back is next on deck. 

Like the 2024 show, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in Concert also features a screening of the complete film with its GRAMMY award-winning score and soundtrack played live by the Philippines' own Filharmonika Orchestra and conducted by Maestro Gerard Salonga. 

If you can't wrap your head around just how much of a pop culture-meets-classical moment this will be, imagine watching epic battles between the Rebel Alliance and the Imperial Forces play out on a massive 40-foot screen. Feel the goosebumps as the Imperial March plays just as stormtroopers close in on Han Solo and Princess Leia, or as—spoiler alert—Luke discovers Darth Vader is his father. All that action and special effects timed with the John Williams musical score to be played live by an orchestra—pretty cool, right? It's a Star Wars nerd's fantasy come to life—one not to be missed at any cost.

Tickets officially go on sale at 12 p.m. on June 10 via Ticketworld—but you can lock in your seats as early as May.
