(SPOT.ph) First aid is one of those skills you hope you’ll never have to use, but when the time comes, it’s literally life-saving. In a real medical crisis, though, good intentions are only the beginning. The best tool is actual training.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to finally learn how to step up, this is it: The Philippine Red Cross Quezon City Chapter is rolling out a lineup of first-aid and CPR training programs in July.

There are three main programs available for individuals, ranging from a comprehensive four-day course to shorter specialized certifications. All will be held at its Diliman venue on the 2nd Floor of the Philippine Red Cross Building within the Quezon City Hall Compound.

How to sign up for first-aid training at the Philippine Red Cross QC

Each course has a different rate and schedule. To secure your slot or set up an in-house group booking, email the organization directly at prc.quezoncity@gmail.com.

For participants who want the total package, the Standard First Aid and BLS-CPR course is your best bet. Over the span of four days (32 hours), you will learn the full spectrum of emergency response, from treating wounds, burns, and fractures to mastering Basic Life Support and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BLS-CPR).

  • Fee: P4,550 per participant.

  • Schedule: Every Tuesday to Friday throughout July

    • July 7–10

    • July 14–17

    • July 21–24

    • July 28–31

Meanwhile, corporate workers or HR personnel can sign up for the more condensed Occupational First Aid Training. This is a two-day (16 hours) course that focuses on workplace first-aid skills.

  • Fee: P3,750 per participant

  • Schedule:

    • July 9–10

    • July 30–31

Finally, if you are a medical student, doctor, nurse, or EMT, there is also a specialized track available: Basic Life Support CPR with AED for Professional Health Care Providers. This one-day (8 hours) course explicitly involves learning how to operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). If you are not familiar, this is the portable device that’s used to shock the heart back into rhythm.

  • Fee: P3,600 per participant

  • Schedule: Every Tuesday in July

    • July 7

    • July 14

    • July 21

    • July 28

If you are looking to train your entire office staff instead of joining as a “walk-in” individual, the chapter also accommodates private group bookings for a minimum of 14 people, as well as shorter four-to-six-hour lecture demonstrations, starting at P5,000 by request.
