(SPOT.ph) LANS is one of those names that seems to have appeared everywhere overnight, but there’s also a good chance you’ve already run into her online: smiling at the camera, stretching her name into her now-familiar “This is LAAANNSSS!” intro. The Philippines may have found its newest social media darling.
The content creator has won people over with her bubbly personality, approachable-yet-eloquent delivery, and informative videos—the kind that remind many of the greats of infotainment television. It makes sense, then, that viewers have compared her to names like Kuya Kim, Kara David, and Drew Arellano. LANS has even gotten a nod from Kuya Kim himself, appearing as his newest guest on Dami Mong Alam, Kuya Kim!, where he actually gives her his signature hat from the start of his career.
Her following has grown at record speed, too. LANS hit two million followers on Facebook in June; by the start of July, she was already at 5.9 million—that’s nearly four million new followers in under three weeks! Add her audience on TikTok and Instagram, and her reach now tops eight million across platforms.
So who exactly is she and what makes her so easy to watch?

Get to know LANS, a veterinary medicine student from Cavite
Louise Anne Notario Nagal is a 24-year-old 5th-year veterinary medicine student from Cavite State University (CSU). If you haven't caught on by now, LANS is an acronym of Nagal’s full name—with the “S” added because there are two Ns.
Her journey with content creation began in February 2025. LANS makes videos answering questions about science and veterinary education that you probably wondered at least once in your life: why roosters crow in the morning (to assert their dominance), knowing how to interact with stray dogs (by observing their body language), and why the sky is blue (because of how our atmosphere scatters light). Occasionally, she’ll also make videos on her life as a student or give inspirational advice.
Almost all of her videos on TikTok have reached over a million views.
Before the fame, though, Nagal was already excelling in her own right.
Nagal was an active member of CSU’s Central State Government, where she participated as a delegate-member, senator, and eventually the senate president. She is also a scholar and the daughter of an OFW father, whose sacrifices inspire her to do her best in school. That may explain why, even with her success as a content creator, Nagal has said her veterinary studies remain her top priority.
“Yung pagaaral ko talaga is sobrang big deal para sa akin. Sobra yung eagerness ko na makapagtapos ako and to always do better and to always make them (her parents) happy, to always remind them na mahal na mahal ko sila,” Nagal told Jessica Soho in an interview.

Her CV is already sounding incredible enough at this point, but get this—she’s also a student athlete. So while you’ll see her document her swimming medals on her page, she’ll also be explaining why your hands wrinkle up after a day in the pool.
A canine connection and a calling
Nagal has always felt like she shared a special connection with the animal kingdom, even believing early on that she was an animal whisperer of sorts. She told Kuya Kim that she had always been fond of animals, constantly gravitating to stray animals despite her parents' concerns about her safety.
A dog person with three pets at home, she credits one of them, Max, for helping her through the isolation of the pandemic—and eventually inspiring her to take up veterinary studies.
That path shaped the reason she started making videos in the first place. Veterinary school showed her how often Filipino furparents turn to self-diagnosis, self-medication, and other online home remedies. Posting on social media was she way of meeting people where they were: if they found misinformation on social media, she would do her part by serving as a credible source of information.
“If you want to change the system, you have to go inside the system,” Nagal said in an interview.

Nagal’s singsong signature—“This is LAAAAANS!”—wasn’t exactly planned as a bit. As she told Kuya Kim, it started simply as a way to introduce herself to the digital world when she was still finding her footing as a content creator.
But the intro stuck because it felt like her. Nagal seems to be almost defined by eagerness—a word she consistently brings up in interviews: she’s eager to make an impact, to do her best in school, to make her parents proud. Over time, her introductions became lengthier and sing-songier, reflecting the eagerness she brings to her craft as an educational content creator.

It seems like Nagal has it all, but as the saying goes, all that glitters isn’t gold. She’s been the subject of misogyny—many of her “fans” are admirers who attempt to flirt with her in the comments.
Talking about her hard work behind her success in the same interview, she can’t help but air some grievances: “Yung audio, yung content, yung shooting, talagang pinagplanuhan siya kaya minsan nakakasad kapag na pinaplanuhan yung content, shinoot niyo, inedit niyo ng ganito, tapos ang mga sasabihin lang nila ‘ang ganda mo,’ parang ganun. Sana sumayaw na lang ako doon, diba?”

Some viewers also began holding her up as a model of what a “respectable” woman should look like online. Comments like “Tunay na maganda, walang thirst trap” and “Matinong babae na may respeto sa sarili” started appearing under posts about her—praise that also came with an ugly comparison to other women.
In a Facebook post that has since drawn nearly a million likes, Nagal addressed the issue directly: “Maging ako po mismo ay hindi rin nakaligtas sa pambabastos, tapos sasabihin ng iba yan sa ibang babae?... Women do not have to fit one image to deserve respect... Ang pagiisip po ninyo sana ang ayusin.”
With now more than eight million followers and counting, Nagal is taking the attention in stride.
“Ayaw kong sumikat pero kailangan tanggapin, wag lang yakapin.” Nagal told Kuya Kim. It's a reminder that fits neatly with what she always tells herself: “Mata sa taas, paa sa lupa.”
