LOOK: Plains & Prints Drops a Collab With Mark Bumgarner + Vania Romoff
Two fashion forces come together to celebrate the brand's 30th anniversary.

(SPOT.ph) For young Filipinos looking to expand their style horizons, a quick trip to the mall summons inspiration. Though plenty of international brands now have outposts in the biggest shopping centers, there are also homegrown brands that continue to make the most of the space they've taken both in malls and in the minds of the shopper looking to dress up. One such local label is Plains & Prints, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a special collab collection from designers Mark Bumgarner and Vania Romoff.

Founded in 1994 by Roxanne Ang-Farillas, Plains & Prints has been the go-to brand for many women on the hunt for stylish pieces they can wear no matter the occasion. Its first ever store was actually a stall in Shoppersville Plus in Greenhills, San Juan, and has since expanded to become a ubiquitous brand that women can rely on.
To celebrate the brand's 30th trip around the sun, two forces in Filipino fashion came together for a collaboration filled with pieces that reflect their individual design sensibilities and are accessible to a wider audience.

Pieces from Plains & Prints' Mark Bumgarner x Vania Romoff collection
The MBxVR Plains & Prints collections borrow design elements unique to each designer. Romoff's pieces have her signature bow detail, playful polka dots, and puff-sleeves reminiscent of her popular Camisa top. From Mark comes structured ruffles and ruching, along with touches of floral and bubble hems.
Despite their individual takes, all pieces in the collection are modular and can easily pair with each other, or with other items shoppers already have in their wardrobes. All the pieces have a touch of elegance and whimsy, and come in trusty shades that are sure staples in the closets of many— think romantic blushes, deep reds, a chic black, and an elegant cream.
For the holidays, we have our eyes on the matching Audrey sleeveless top and Greta skirt in red, figure-hugging pieces with a bubble hem detail. They can be worn separately with other pieces, but wearing them together assures maximum impact. The black-blush version is equally a showstopper we think would shine at dinners, events, parties, or whenever—because for sure you'll find any excuse to dress up.

Another pick from the collection is the Amelia top, a sleeveless number with a boat neck and an open back, tied at the back with a bow, and the matching Amelia skirt which has pockets, an elastic waistline for the best fit, and ends right at the ankles with a bubble hem. We love it in polka dots but that variation is currently out of stock on the website, although now available in stores. The blush iteration is just as dreamy.
