PSA: Celestial Nights at Masungi Georeserve Extends 'Til February—Here's How You Can Book Your Slots

(SPOT.ph) If you’re still nursing a little FOMO from Masungi Georeserve’s Moonlit Symphonies, don’t worry—the nature reserve has another treat lined up for you. Last year, Masungi quietly launched Celestial Nights, a limited-time-only evening trek complete with stargazing, folklore, food, and that unmistakable nighttime forest allure. It didn’t take long for people to fall in love with it, so much so that it's had several re-runs since.

Now, it's back—this time for more weekends this December, January, and February. Consider this the next contender for a newfound Christmas (and Valentine's) tradition, where you trade shimmering fairy lights for twinkling stars, mall crowds for nocturnal animals, and stress for a night filled with moonlit walks on the trail. Here's what you need to know about Masungi Georeserve's Celestial Nights from December 2025 to February 2026.

To the uninitiated, Celestial Nights offers rare access to Masungi Georeserve’s Discovery Trail after dark. Your journey starts with a 45-minute guided hike along an easy path, where you’ll meet the forest’s nighttime residents and catch sweeping views under the evening sky.

Your hike ends on a rock peak where freshly made hot chocolate and classic holiday merienda—your choice of bibingka or puto-bumbong—are waiting. But that's just the beginning. Under the guidance of Masungi’s astro experts, you’ll dive into the cosmos through stargazing and storytelling, much like how stories were passed down in generations past.

Your final stop is a lantern-lit forest dinner tucked in a quiet valley. Expect traditional banana-wrapped dishes crafted by Masungi’s community partners—take your pick from Grilled Chicken Minalot, Fish Fillet in Coconut Cream Sauce, or Tofu Steak with Stir-Fried Rice.

This run of Celestial Nights is available on all weekends of December, January, and February. While all dates are open for booking now, you might want to consider signing up for the ones on December 22, 23, 29, and 30, 2025, and January 2, 2026. According to Masungi Georeserve's social media post, these are "special dates" which promise a "rare, heartfelt holiday encounter with the stars."

But whether it's a special date or not, all Celestial Nights are expected to last about three to four hours. This accounts for the hike, the stargazing session, and the meals. Each night features two batches—one at 5:30 p.m. and another at 6 p.m. There’s no minimum number of participants needed for the activity to proceed, but a look at the registration page shows that each slot is capped at around 14 guests.

Slots are limited and booked on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s best to secure your preferred dates early. Based on previous runs, slots run out fast, and you wouldn't want a repeat of the FOMO. The conservation fee is P3,000 per guest, or P2,800 per guest for groups of four or more. You can request your visit by booking online.

Note that submitting a visit request does not guarantee a confirmed slot for the event. A separate confirmation email will be sent to you once the visit details and conservation fees have been fully settled.
