This May, Fully Booked is heading to the coast for a sunset reading session at Alpas in Bacnotan, La Union. Here’s what to know about this one-day-only beach reading activity—and how to join the fun.

From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on May 9, make Fully Booked’s reading session a part of your post-siesta festivities. For a few hours, leave your surfboards and the ankle-high summer swells behind and, instead, dive into your current favorite read—beachside.
Spend the afternoon burning through your current summer read with fellow bookworms, along the sandy shores of Alpas La Union. If you’ve been waiting for the perfect spot to finally make a dent in that thousand-page slow burn, this is your sign to head to Elyu that weekend.
Feel free to bring a book or two (or three) for this sunset readathon, but if you’re not in the middle of a page-turner just yet, you can also borrow one from curated picks by Fully Booked on-site.
To get in on the fun, you’ll have to head about 20 minutes north of the main San Juan strip to the quieter, more laid-back town of Bacnotan. This is where you’ll find Alpas, a breezy space that serves as a resort, coffee shop, plant studio, and live music spot. And yes, your pets are more than welcome here too.

It’s a win-win: you get a great spot for sunset, plus a hearty snack as reading fuel.
