ICYMI: This Cozy Free Nook at Greenbelt Is Perfect for Shopping Breaks

(SPOT.ph) Malls in Metro Manila are undergoing a major overhaul. In the case of Ayala Malls' flagships, they’re evolving beyond shopping and dining destinations into spaces where people can slow down, unwind, create, and even work when needed. Take Greenbelt, for example, which recently transformed a once-overlooked area into a rest stop called Our Common Place. Here's a look at Makati's newest communal oasis for rest and relaxation.

You've likely passed by this area on your way home from work. Our Common Space takes over the once-bare and unassuming flights of stairs that you see along the way to the train station in Greenbelt 5. This spot is often where pop-ups are set up, but when there's nothing else going on, you'll see people sitting and resting on the bare steps, but now it's been made more comfortable, cozier, and livelier. Now, it feels like a space where you can really just settle down and relax.

The platforms that stretch from the second to the third floor of Greenbelt 5 now grab your attention with pops of green, plants positioned at every corner, and orange and blue hues on cushioned surfaces. It offers a fun, refreshed combination that makes the space feel more alive.

You can still sit on the bare stairs if you want, but there are now more seating options at Our Common Space. Communal tables with chairs are now on site, where you can do some light work or reading. Parts of the steps have also been cushioned, preventing your butts from getting sore from sitting for long periods. Further adding to the cozy, relaxing ambiance is a coffee shop at the top of the stairs for that much-needed pick-me-up.

For house rules, it's pretty simple: just be considerate of the other people in the same space—everyone just wants a nice, quiet time, as you do. Also, be mindful that the seating areas are for sitting only; do not lie down or sleep. And most importantly, clean up after yourselves and practice CLAYGO.
