Karl Roy, P.O.T. and Kapatid frontman, passes away

Thank you for the music, Karl Roy.

 

Interaksyon.com reports: "Karl Roy, lead vocalist of the band Kapatid and P.O.T., passed away early morning Tuesday, March 13, at 1:01 a.m. The news was announced by Karl's sister, Kathryn Roy, on Facebook. He was said to have passed away in his home surrounded by members of his family, including his daughter Arianna. He is survived by his wife Dena."

 

Though his sister's Facebook announcement didn't reveal the specific cause of Roy's death, it's known that Roy has suffered from a heart ailment for year. In fact, in 2008, a benefit concert for him was mounted by his fellow artists. By then, he had suffered from multiple strokes.

    No shit...Bodjie Dasig also dies the same day but the majority of the comments appear to be in Karl Roy's passing. My condolences to a trailblazer of the early-90's Pinoy Rock renaissance...and a former classmate of mine back at OB Montessori Center (Greenhills). Job well done fella....
