ABS-CBNNews.com reports that the Philippines made it again to the Guinness World Records on Sunday, May 13, for the most consecutive haircuts by a team. That would be 388 haircuts in three hours. The haircut subjects were all men. The feat was accomplished through the Gupitang Bayan Para sa Kabuhayan project. Interestingly enough, according to the report, "the project was organized by former Surigao governor Robert 'Ace' Barbers."
The ABS-CBNNews.com report revealed that through the project, "10 hairstylists from Newsbarbers and Reyes Haircutters agreed to team up and give consecutive haircuts— from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.—to customers ranging from a two-year-old boy to senior citizens" in Valenzuela City.
The report explained the previous record "was set by a team of eight hairstylists from the Gatsby Salon in Green Brook, New Jersey, who gave 246 haircuts in eight hours on March 7, 2001."
