International singing star Charice Pempengco, 18, underwent non-invasive Botox and Thermage procedures administered by celebrity cosmetic surgeon Dr. Vicki Belo on July 17 supposedly in preparation for Charice' guest role in Glee, reports  ABS-CBNNews.com.

Saying she was afraid of needles, Charice cried when Belo injected Botox into her face. The 30-minute thermage procedure was painless, according to  ABS-CBNNews.com.

Belo said the procedures were done to make Charice' "naturally round face" narrower. "I've been noticing that Charice' face is getting wider... Although her body is very small, she looks fat because her face is getting wider. One of the reasons for that is because she chews gum. If you chew a lot of gum, your chewing muscles get bigger."

Belo added, "The other thing, she really has a naturally round face. So we did Thermage, pampaliit ng mukha 'yon... 'yong muscle [sa jaw area] na nagbu-bulge, puwedeng i-Botox para maging normal ulit. And then she will not chew gum anymore  para maganda na siya sa Glee."

According to Belo, the effects of the Thermage procedure will be seen in three months, while that of the Botox will be seen in about a month. Charice will start taping for Glee on July 28 or 29.

Charice said a lot of people are wondering if she can compete with Rachel Berry, Glee's resident diva (played by Lea Michele) whom Charice's character, a Filipino foreign exchange student, will give "a run for her money." Charice told ABS-CBNNews.com, "So, siyempre sobrang laki ng pressure... Isa ito sa mga big preparations namin for Glee. Gusto ko naman mag-mukhang fresh."

Charice performs at the Eastwood Mall Open Park after undergoing cosmetic procedures on July 17.

After undergoing the cosmetic procedures, Charice performed the last of her concert series in Manila at the Eastwood Mall Open Park. Among the 5,000-strong crowd were Belo and rumored boyfriend Hayden Kho Jr.

vicki belo is a quack. She is not a good person. charice made a wrong decision by having her face injected with some chemicals. belo just wanted free publicity and she looks awful, no kidding.

charice should stop her association with belo.. it cheapens her image really.. somehow she looks like one of those talentless bimbos we have here na puro makeup at retoke ang gawa sa buhay.. stop it or baka malaos sya..

    @Klaudia
This isn't about being honest. Charice is in show business (strong emphasis on the business part). In the US, cosmetic surgery is simply not done, ADMITTED, and RECORDED by celebrities. Look at the bigger picture
  • Klaudia Jul 23 2010 @ 01:51am Report Abuse
Hey guys, let's be open-minded here. Yes, Charice is merely 18 years old and the 'damage' with the whole misconception on botox and thermage has been done, but at least they were honest, right? Don't be hypocrites here. We have a big number of local celebrities same with Charice's age who have even gone through surgical procedures just to be able to maintain that look. Charice and Belo were just preparing for the Glee thing, and there's nothing wrong with wanting to improve your physical looks if that will make you feel more confident. Remember, Charice will appear in Glee. Talent is a big factor, but good looks too. I bet this incident raises awareness on the procedures done, which can benefit everyone who doesn't really know anything about it. Go Charice!

Charice has the looks...round face will become narrower at age 40's because the face will start loosening its skin...what worried me is the effect of what was injected in her...now, Dra. Vicki is internationally famous - because of the procedure done. It made other people aware of the pros and cons of the botox, thermage, etc.

oops... sorry about my blank post.

although i didn't like charice decision. we should also take note the difference between hollywood and our local show-business. in the us, it's either you're frown upon or laughed at when you announce you're cosmetic surgeries, here in the Philippines it seems like celebrities embrace it and wants everyone to know about it. our media doesn't criticize the celebrities for doing it. they even publicize it creating demand in cosmetic surgeries. it's also a form of PR for the surgeons. just look at the billboards of belo...

Her handlers should have known that it is frowned upon in the US for celebs to publicly acknowledging getting cosmetic surgery. The funny thing is that they did it with a the TV crew covering the procedure. Very odd.

Marie and Nick: You both have proven your points, and expect that you will rest your cases. Enough!Peace to both of you :)
  • suzette Jul 20 2010 @ 03:35am Report Abuse
@Marj: i totally agree with you. she should leave the philippines altogether. it seems that every times she goes back home, these st*p*d issues come up. i'm afraid you can't reason out with folks with extremely narrow minds. they take one issue and blow it out of proportion. and because of their gossipy nature, they don't hesitate to pass along even the most unfounded information. i guess they can't stand that this little girl is making it big in the entertainment industry. no wonder it's still a third world country.
  • Marie Jul 20 2010 @ 03:05am Report Abuse
@nick: i don't expect everyone to like her. i expect her to be treated with respect. obviously, that word escapes your vocabulary. if you have to make a comment about someone, decency dictates that you do it without making references to the way they look. she was not born with killer looks, but she's out there making the most of what God gave her. and to mention her family and the way they look is beyond tasteless. i don't care if you look like brad pitt. it's character that counts. if you don't believe that, then heaven help you.
  • nick Jul 20 2010 @ 01:41am Report Abuse
@ Marie, am i not entitled to my own opinion? hirap sa yo na die hard fan, galit pag nakakabasa ng di maganda sa idol, kung ayaw mong magalit then don't read the comments! You don't expect everyone to like her and being a celebrity, a part of it is getting criticisms be it constructive or destructive. Bakit ikaw atang galit na galit at hindi si Charice? Bawas ugali ka dyan, bawas galit ka kaya? BTW guapo ako, pramis.
  • jonas Jul 20 2010 @ 12:34am Report Abuse
natutuwa ako sa GMA7 hindi sa kanila si charice but they treat her really nice... they are so proud of her obviously, im supporting charice so much!!!

Correction: Charice, you will be packaged like any other American celebrity because your audience will be mainly Americans. Other audiences, while always welcome, do not matter. Pure and simple.
  • Tita Aida Jul 20 2010 @ 12:10am Report Abuse
Charice, you were discovered by the Americans. The big break was given to you by the Americans. In a few months, you will speak like the Americans (after accent development), you will dress like the Americans, your outlook in life will be American, and you will have the US green card for extraordinary ability. In other words, you will be as American as apple pie pretty soon. Your audience will be packaged to be an American celebrity simply because your audience will be the Americans. Place the Philippines outside of your radar screen which includes all the negative comments here. Your local detractors will be nothing but envious axxholes. The United States will be home. After earning enough moolah, the Philippines will just be your playground for leisure and pleasure.

gaano ba kabata ang pwede na magpa-botox? 12? 13? 18? hay, charice will definitely stand out sa Glee, i dunno why kelangan pa niya ipagalaw ang mukha niya. she has charmed the world enough without botox. but that's her life.. it's her choice.
  • Marie Jul 19 2010 @ 10:30pm Report Abuse
The bottom line is, if you're a fan of Charice, it doesn't matter what she does as long as she doesn't damage her voice. The same folks in twitter (99.9% Filipinos) who were vilifying her looks (i.e. monay-face, siopao-face, f*gly,.... and a few other unmentionables) when she announced her Glee role are the same crabs who are now denouncing her decision to go for this treatment. Constructive criticism is one thing, but these haters objective is the pure destruction of Charice. What is that all about? Extreme jealousy or self-hate?

Aren't doctors supposed to keep information like this confidential?
  • danevillaluz Jul 19 2010 @ 07:14pm Report Abuse
Oh, no! Charice with botox? I mean, she's 18 for Pete's sake! She's not supposed to have any cosmetic fix-ups at this moment, and she really doesn't need these. She doesn't have visible scars. She's not effin' *gly. And while she's not exactly hot or teen movie-pretty, I still appreciate her fresh-looking face. Please, Charice, stay away from that silicone oil-filled woman! Or else you will look like a shrimp.
  • mayrs Jul 19 2010 @ 11:32am Report Abuse
lets all face the truth... she became famous because of her talent and not because of her looks.

now, she cant survive hollywood if she doesnt sparkle, and by that i mean she needs to look as gorgeous as any other teeny bopper star out there to survive.

A little enhancement wouldnt really hurt.
  • Marie Jul 19 2010 @ 11:21am Report Abuse
So what. We have no business meddling in her affairs.

To @nick: hindi baleng bawas mukha. Ikaw, meron bang procedure for bawas ugal? Kalalaki mong tao, napakapintasero mo. In my experience, 'yung mga pintaserong lalaki ang walang itsura dahil very insecure sila. Tinamaaan ka, 'no? Good!
  • Amor Jul 19 2010 @ 09:52am Report Abuse
Botox at the age of 18? Charice, hija. Gawin mo na lang pamantayan ang mukha ni Bello. Pagtanda mo magiging ganyan ka rin, kirat kahit hindi naman kumikindat. Stay away from that woman, she only wants publicity and your money. You don't do these things for the sake of GLEE. It will get old and forgotten one day. The fans love you the way you are. This news is disappointing.
  • Marj Jul 19 2010 @ 09:07am Report Abuse
Charice darling, just live in LA or NY where people appreciate you more. In fact, Perez Hilton, the king of intrigues in Hollywood and the most difficult person to please in showbiz USA, loves you and that is more important than any of these Manila nincompoop. As far as I am concerned, any small voices that come from Manila does not hold water. More power.
  • mother earth Jul 19 2010 @ 08:52am Report Abuse
sumikat sya na bilog ang mukha. bakit kailangan pa nito? pag nag showbiz nga naman, no such thing as natural beauty.
  • nick Jul 19 2010 @ 08:27am Report Abuse
meron bang bawas mukha? Yun dapat gawin ni Charice, isama na rin ang nanay at kapatid :) sa totoo lang di ba?, since they're okay with botox and the works why not bawas mukha.

vicki belo is crazy. charice is only wat? 15? ano bang moralidad meron yan babae na yan. pti bata sinisimulan na nya magkapera lang. dpat hindi ka nag doktor.
  • Susmaryosep Jul 19 2010 @ 07:10am Report Abuse
WTHey!The girl is 18, for heavensake! If she or her mother do not put their foot down, at 25 charice will look like the overbleached overinjected lipoed plastic dolls all over metro manila's billboards. Itigil ang kalokohang ito!
  • Tita Aida Jul 19 2010 @ 01:16am Report Abuse
Why not? Nothing wrong if her face value will go up. They do it all in Hollywood. On the other hand, she should live in Singapore if she wants to stop chewing bubble gum.
