Robin Padilla says "I love you" to Mariel Rodriguez on TV, gives her a P1.2M diamond ring, mentions marriage
Published on: Aug 7, 2010 - 9:13pm

Ratings-boosting gimmick or a modern-day unabashed declaration of true love?

Pilipinas Win na Win (PWNW) host, actor Robin Padilla proclaimed "Mahal kita" ("I love you") to his PWNW
co-host Mariel Rodriguez on  ABS-CBN's E-Live (Entertainment Live) today, August 7, reports reports that Mariel showed the diamond ring said to be worth P1.2 million given to her by Padilla on the show and asked him why he did so, and he said, "Napakaespesyal niyan. At naniniwala ako sa saying na 'diamonds are forever..Hindi ho ibig sabihin nito na sinagot na ako ni Mariel." ("That's very special. And I believe 'diamonds are forever...but that doesn't mean Mariel has said yes.") He teased her about why she wasn't wearing the ring, and Mariel quipped, "E, kasi hindi pa 'ko handang pag-usapan." ("Because I'm not ready to talk about it yet.") Before Robin could interject, she asked him to slip the ring on her finger, which he did, to the thrill of the studio audience. He asked her to never remove the ring from her finger, and she agreed. says Padilla declared, "Ako, hindi ako nagsisinungaling. Totoo, sagutin mo ako o hindi, itago mo yung singsing. Ano mang mangyari, itago mo 'yan. Sa 'yo 'yan, hindi ako nagsinungaling sa 'yo, Mariel. Mahal kita," ("I never lie. Really, whether you say yes or not, keep the ring. It's yours, I'm not lying to you, Mariel, I love you.")

According to, Padilla dispelled rumors that the two were already secretly married. "Hindi ho totoo yun," ("It's not true,") he said. "Alam n'yo... pag nangyari yung sinasabing magandang kasal, hindi namin yun ililihim... At kung papayag kang pakasalan kita."("You know...when the so-called beautiful wedding happens, we won't keep it a secret...that is, if you agree to marry me,"). When asked if she'd marry him, Rodriguez was speechless and said "You're always doing the Robin Padilla thing!"

Rodriguez hosts E-Live along with Luis Manzano, Cesca Litton and Nikki Gil. Padilla was her special guest during her birthday celebration.

I totally disagree to most of these comments appearing below if not all... People kept on judging people on who they are and what they want in life. These persons impute unscrupulous words to those who doesn't even know they exist. Robin is a good man, I would agree to that, but saying he is a player and a convict is out of bounds.
Past does not determine the future nor is it the present; you just have to understand that. Heck, let them be... As long as they don't injure you nor are you in the immediate instance of being injured by their marriage. If NOT then zip your mouth...

Robin still has IT. Mariel looks like pinipigilan ang sarili na ma-sway sa mga words niya pero bumigay na rin, sino ba namang hindi bibigay kay Robin and his ways with women. ang sarap lang ng ligawan stage... kakilig. we'll see after that..

C'mon Mariel, this relationship will last until the next leading lady.
@ Common, depends on the "showbiz age" given by Mariel.
@ Marj, uhmmm Binoe is endorsing a pain reliever, kidney supplement, liver supplement, Trust condom, a multivitamin, Phonecard and so much more.

Although there's really nothing like being wooed by someone as big as Robin Padilla, at the end of the day, when no one sees so you anymore, it's the same relationship as everyone else. Don't believe the hype Mariel, know the real him, know his past. good luck.

Ok, on to the real topic.
Is Queenie 3 years younger than Mariel? Idol, walang kupas talaga. Be careful Mariel, you could be idol's flavor of the month for August.

I could not agree more with Chie, I have never ever seen a show go from "First to Worst" in just one weeks time and I attribute it all to Kris and her condensending, sanctimonious, maldita attitude. It is really nauseating to watch, talaga.

No offense to Mr. Pogi but his noontime show really sucks. It's overpowered by the lameness of Kris Aquino. What's worse, her lack of enthusiasm makes the noontime variety show seem like a really bad copy of her other previous evening contests.

Mr. Padilla, leave while you still can, your career is on its way to getting ruined.
