Boracay ranked 2nd in "Best Beaches in the World" list compiled by TripAdvisor

Boracay was ranked second in TripAdvisor's Traveler's Choice roster for the "Best Beaches in the World" for 2011.  Based on user reviews, TripAdvisor picked 25 spots all over the world that boast of great beaches. TripAdvisor commended Boracay: "Yapak Beach is known for beautiful white shells; White Beach has picture-perfect sunsets; and Balinghai Beach is a secluded spot, perfect for honeymooners."

    Amanpulo is definitely more beautiful than boracay. but i don't think the list includes island resorts. google britania islands in surigao, it's amazing way better than some of the islands in the list. and the best thing is, you can visit the islands for free..

    why genuine, have you been to Amanpulo? me, i haven't. and FYI, Amanpulo is not the name of the island, its Pamalican.

    we should preserve Boracay and maintain the pristine beaches or whatever that is left of it, because they have been over developed and it loses the natural beauty and charms due to rapid commercialism.

    Clearly, whoever compiled this list hasn't seen Amanpulo. Boracay will go the way of Baguio, Tagaytay, if greedy developers continue to have it their way. Over-commercialized, overpopulated.
