10. Wincy Ong

Wincy Ong is geek-cute personified. Looking quite at home in front of the camera as he is behind it, he played a drummer on the TV5 show Rakista and an acne-afflicted guy on that Belo Men commercial, to name a couple roles.

As a director, his projects include music videos for local artists Itchyworms, Chicosci, Pupil, Ciudad, True Faith, Sponge Cola, Kyla, Nikki Gil and Luke Mejares. He’s currently finishing his first full-length film San Lazaro, a horror movie that "takes exorcism with a grain of salt," which he wrote and produced as well. He also wears many hats—vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist, writer and composer—in his music project "Patience Dear Juggernaut."

9. Paolo Abella

He gives off a cool, mysterious persona with his tunay-na-lalaki mustache and goatee paired with those black Wayfarer specs. He has directed a boatload of music videos: Rico Blanco’s "Neon Lights," Franco’s "Song for the Suspect," Sinosikat?’s "Nung Iniwan Mo Ako," Greyhoundz’ "Shoot to Kill," and more.

Paolo has also ventured into the TV commercial scene, with projects for Head & Shoulders featuring Manny Pacquiao, and Pantene featuring Maricar Reyes and Angelica Panganiban. A former in-house director at Channel [V] and Unitel Productions, he studied film directing and 3D animation at the New York Film Academy, and art history at the UP College of Fine Arts.

8. Quark Henares

With his adorably bungisngis smile and wild locks, Henares is—to quote Idol’s Steven Tyler on Casey Abrams—a "gorgeous hairball of wonder" that we just want to hug. He first made a splash with his full-length sexy film, Gamitan, and followed it with another sexy film, Keka, which had the Quentin Tarantino’s thumbs-up. Before venturing into full-length feature films, he won a Palanca Award for Best Teleplay in 2001 for his short film A Date with Jao Mapa.

This music video and TV commercial director plus vocalist of Us-2 Evil-0 has also gone into mainstream filmmaking (Super Noypi, ’Wag Kang Lilingon). Up next is the "most personal film" he’s ever worked on, Rakenrol, which has already started making the international film festival rounds.

7. Sid Maderazo

Maderazo’s got the bad boy look down pat with his bone structure, slight stubble and lean build. Part of the award-winning production house 88storey Films, he has shot many, many commercials over the years.

To name a few: Creamsilk’s "Celebration" featuring Venus Raj, Red Horse Beer’s "Catch" featuring Georgina Wilson and Isabelle Daza, Pepsi’s "Cooler" featuring Jericho Rosales, and, of course, Coke’s viral ditty "Ito ang beat sabay sabay."

Maderazo is also part-owner of the upscale restaurant Bowler in Salcedo Village, Makati.

6. Lino Cayetano

Though his long locks certainly made him stand out, we have to say he became cuter when he chopped them off, highlighting his bespectacled adorableness and puppy dog eyes. He has directed tons of ABS-CBN soaps like Tanging Yaman and Noah, plus the movie I’ve Fallen For You.

The youngest sibling of Senators Pia and Alan Peter Cayetano, he has made headlines for being linked to celebrities KC Concepcion, Bianca Gonzalez, Carmen Soo, and most recently to star stylist Liz Uy.

5. Laurenti Dyogi

With that sweet smile and guy-next-door look, he’s got his own fans flocking to the sets of his shows like the massively popular Pinoy Big Brother reality series. Back in the heyday of Star Circle Quest, some would watch the talent search show just to see him give the contestants constructive criticism.

Direk Lauren, as he is fondly called, has worked with a lot of the industry’s top artists like John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo (Now That I Have You), and Aga Muhlach (All My Life), and has served as production executive for tons of ABS-CBN shows. He currently co-directs teen musical drama Good Vibes starring Sam Concepcion and Enrique Gil, among others.

Those who don’t know that Direk Lauren was once a print and runway model probably wouldn’t be surprised.

4. Carlo Ledesma

Ledesma has the honest sort of bring-home-to-mom face. Not that you could, though, since he’s tied the knot with writer-editor-model Cat Juan in a beautiful beach wedding in Palawan.

Having been in the industry for over 15 years, Ledesma has worked in film, radio, theater and television. In the Philippines, he spent seven years as senior producer of the acclaimed sports and travel show Gameplan. Now based in Sydney, Australia, he won the Mini Movie Channel Award for Best Short Film at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007 for his five-minute film The Haircut. At the A Night of Horror International Film Festival in Australia last month, he was declared Best Australian Director for his latest movie, The Tunnel.

3. Pepe Diokno

This charmingly scruffy cineaste is armed with a passion for his craft and a clear, fresh vision that has resonated with critics and audiences around the world. At the young age of 22, he won the Orizzonti Award for Best Film and the Luigi de Laurentiis Award for a Debut Film at the Venice Film Festival in 2009 with his movie inspired by "death squad" killings, Engkwentro. In 2006, his 8.5-minute dark comedy No Passport Needed was a finalist at the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival.

Currently developing his next films, Diokno also writes for The Philippine Star and serves as the executive director of the volunteer group Rock Ed Philippines. Oh and yes, he’s the grandson of the late Senator Jose "Pepe" Diokno, his namesake.

2. Joaquin Valdes

Tall, toned and chiseled, he first charmed audiences hosting the likes of morning show Breakfast and docu-magazine series 100% Pinoy. He blew away the industry when his 30-minute film Bulong, which won Best Thesis at the University of the Philippines Film Institute, won Best Short Narrative at the 2nd New Beijing International Movie Week. Two years later, he came out with his first full-length feature Dagim, which took home Best Supporting Actor, Sound and Editing at the 6th Cinema One Originals Film Festival. The theater actor (Spring Awakening, Into the Woods) has also helmed a bunch of TV commercials and music videos.

Fun fact: When you Google his name, DateJoaquin.com pops up. In 2006, what "started as a joke" turned into a Close-Up-sponsored website that chronicled his 100-day mission to find love. In the end, he "did find love" with each of the eight ladies he went out with, and "realized that love was in the search, the process and the means." How’s that for adorable?

1. Paul Soriano

Blessed with that freshly showered look even when he’s all sweaty and knee-deep in production work, Paul Soriano was bound to have movie star looks, having a grandpa no other than the late matinee idol Nestor de Villa. Growing up as a "production kid" influenced by the world of his grandfather and father, director Jeric Soriano, he started out as a production assistant in Manila after studying in different schools abroad.

He has now tried his hand at all sorts of filmmaking: full-length feature (A Journey Home), music videos (for the likes of Regine Velasquez and Gary Valenciano), commercials (Globe, Smart), political ads (Manny Pacquiao, Bongbong Marcos), concert coverage (Gary Valenciano’s "Gary V @ 23"), and more. He also directed long-time celebrity girlfriend Toni Gonzaga in her music video for "Catch Me I’m Fallin’" and in A Journey Home.
