Don't expect Borough to bring these baked babies to your table within minutes. Freshly-baked and served fresh out of the oven, these particularly thick, bite-size mounds are served warm and with a cold bottle of extra creamy milk.

The cookies' crisp edges provide a nice contrast to their soft centers while the semi-sweet chocolate chips offset their decidedly milky taste with sweet bursts of cacao. If you're big on milk, we suggest dunking these bad boys in, and dunking them in good.

The platter usually comes with three kinds of cookies but purists can also request for an all-chocolate-chip pile.

8. Chocolate chip cookies at Spiral at the Sofitel

It comes as no surprise why the freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies from Spiral's dessert station have a loyal following—you get a double dose of chocolate in small yet hearty bites. The cookies are peppered generously with a mix of boldly-flavored dark chocolate that literally melt in your mouth, and a dash of extra rich white chocolate chips are also casually mixed in the batter. In fact, the cookies have become so popular that Spiral decided to make them available for purchase soon, even without a trip to the Spiral buffet.

Kooky and Luscious owner Chef Bambi Sy-Gobio's cookies give you a smorgasbord of chocolate flavors with back-to-back servings of cacao—the cookie base flaunts a chocolate-flavored base and a hefty amount of semi-sweet chocolate chips embedded in its soft center. Chewy without being over-the-top moist, these cookies also give a nice crunch from the chocolate chips with every bite.

6. Chocolate chip cookies from Brothers Burger (P60 per piece)

Who would've thought that a burger joint would have rave-worthy chocolate chip cookies that could rival creations from Manila's most ruthless bakers? These large homemade cookies—almost five inches in diameter and half an inch thick—have earned a solid reputation for being memorably moist and having a consistency as soft as unbaked cookie dough. The chocolate chips are supersized too so you get a chock-full of chocolate in every bite. And yet the best thing about this is how it's not at all cloyingly sweet, but the kind you can't help but want more than just one of.

5. Chocolate chip cookies from Kate Baked (P400 for a dozen)

Freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies have a way of being as comforting as a big bear hug, and Kate Baked's version are no different. The medium-sized cookies have that fresh, non-commercial, hard-to-resist homebaked taste that make you wonder if they came straight out of the oven and into your hands. Each bite is a chewy treat, and promises equally balanced portions of dough and premium dark chocolate. They're the type that suddenly make you not want to share—and if you wolf the whole batch down in one sitting, we wouldn't be surprised.

4. Ultimate Chocolate chip cookies from Kitchen of Carla & Elaine (P105 for six pieces)

You probably remember her name for that bazaar-famous decadent Almond Toffee Cake, now you'll think of Kitchen of Carla & Elaine's Carla Uy because of her sinful chocolate chip cookies. No lightweights in the cookie department, her version is riddled with Belgian chocolate chips, and is the chewiest of the bunch we nibbled on.

3. Chocolate chip cookies from Mrs. Fields (P135 for three pieces)

The nibblers from Mrs. Fields' iconic cookie collection come in odd, chunky shapes that could easily remind you of home-baked cookies your grandma used to make—their imperfect shape part of the charm. Baked to a nice crisp on the outside, the cookie's chewy core hints at traces of honey and sweet-smelling butter—not to mention loads of chocolate chips. Truth be told, it still has that timeless appeal that has made this cookie-maker world-famous, and if anything, proves she has not lost her baking magic.

2. Chocolate chip cookies from Classic Confections (P145 for six pieces)

Like most of the tempting creations in her pretty Greenbelt 5 shop, Baba Ibazeta's chocolate chip cookies are a winner, and are a must-try for anyone with an insatiable sweet tooth. The medium-sized cookies flaunt a chewy consistency with an indulgent caramel-vanilla finish that, once devoured, could unintentionally make you let out a sweet, satisfied sigh. Chocolate lovers won't be left wanting, too—this baby is packed with tons of soft chocolate chips plus some small walnut pieces for a chunkier, nuttier mix.

1. Ghirardelli chocolate chip cookies by Homemade by Roshan (P700 for 12 pieces)

This cookie is the stuff dreams are made of. Roshan Samtani, famous in foodie circles for her delectable baked goods, clearly does not believe in scrimping on ingredients: each bite into her “meaty” cookies reveals a lingering vanilla flavor, bits of walnuts and big chunks of chocolate chips. The cookies will woo you with a mélange of textures: dense cookie dough made more interesting with a contrasting crunch from the walnuts, and creamy morsels of Ghirardelli chocolate chips that melt on your tongue. The best part: they remained soft and moist days later, and were just as good as when we first fell in love with them.
