KathNiel Is Officially Over and the Internet Is Having a Collective Breakdown

(SPOT.ph) It's finally happened. Whispers of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla parting ways have been going around for the past few months, and the two stars have finally confirmed it on their Instagram accounts tonight, November 30—resulting in a collective breakdown online. Totally valid, we say.

Bernardo and Padilla have been KathNiel for as long as we can remember (Read: 11 years). Their relationship has pretty much shaped the entertainment industry, and of course, showbiz, to be how it is now. From titles like The Hows of Us to their first big banger, She's Dating the Gangster, this love team had one hell of a chokehold over audiences. 

On their Instagrams, both stars posted letters confirming their breakup, alongside old pictures of them, with Padilla posting a more recent one of Bernardo. Both confirmed that their love was real, but have decided to part ways. Bernardo and Padilla also directed messages of support to their fanbase.

That last bit was an absolute need, because tonight has unofficially turned into a night of mourning. We're sure your group chats are currently on fire (and in tears). Twitter's an absolute mess, with "KathNiel" at the top of the trends. And yes, the memes have begun popping up on Facebook.
