(SPOT.ph) Two things that go well together? Salt and pepper. Strawberries and cream. Chocolate and peanuts. What about pancakes and fried chicken? Or flapjacks with barbecued ribs?

Flapjacks, famous for their fluffy, moist, hot-off-the-griddle pancakes and all-day breakfast food, takes pancake du jour to a new level by pairing it with signature savory entrees as well as developing new flavors. Breakfast lovers should try the Hungarian Delight (P375)-fiery sausage and scrambled eggs matched with classic golden pancakes. The Pancakes and Steak (P575), which, we may add, boasts extremely juicy and tender cuts, puts a sophisticated edge on an otherwise homey meal.

For the more "avante garde" palate, there’s the triply delicious green-hued chives pancakes (P575) combined with chicken longganisa and beef tapa (two Flapjacks favorites). The super moist, slightly gritty potato pancakes (P795) with fall-off-the-bone barbecued ribs is also an amazing alternative to the otherwise traditional take on pancakes.
