Nike Cortez Redesigned
One shoe, eight artists. Nike celebrates the 40th year of their signature kicks.
(SPOT.ph) Introduced 40 years ago, the Nike Cortez was the first-ever running shoes designed by the brand. Lightweight and flexible, it became one of Nike’s signature kicks.
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Nike collaborated with 40 artists all over Southeast Asia, who were given carte blanche to come up with their own designs for the sneaker. From the Philippines, the shoe giant tapped fashion blogger Laureen Uy, Chicosci frontman Miggy Chavez, WeWillDoodle founder Nelz Yumul, accessories creator Eunice Alera, freelance designer AJ Dimarucot, poster designer JP Cuison, traveling artist Anton Lopez, and tattoo artists Ron Poe & Myke Sambajon.
Their creations can be viewed at Sole Academy in Katipunan until July 1, 2012.
