Greenbelt ArtPark Presents Ann Pamintuan
Greenbelt 5’s The Gallery presents Ann Pamintuan
(SPOT.ph) This summer, Greenbelt’s ArtPark puts the spotlight on jewelry and furniture designer Ann Pamintuan. She is most known for her works in woven metal, having won Best Product Design for Home Decor at the 2006 Manila F.A.M.E. for her LO2 Squares, as well as being part of the 2004 International Design Yearbook in London for her Cocoon Chair.
Pamintuan poses with one of her metal sculptures in Greenbelt’s ArtPark
The outdoor exhibit features 13 different sculptures that depict horses in different colors and sizes, made from metal wire, stainless steel, copper, galvanized iron, flat metal, and brass. One of the horses has its front legs up, another in a kneeling position, most are galloping.
The horses represent Pamintuan’s siblings, the letters of their names rearranged and used for the sculptures’ own monikers.
You might see a horse positioned in one corner, looking shy.
The exhibit will be available for viewing until August 26, 2013.
