Art for a Cause: Hope, A Benefit Exhibit by Geraldine Santiago, Opening on June 25 at The Rockwell Club
An art exhibit for the benefit of Yolanda survivors
(SPOT.ph) In partnership with Right Start and Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines Inc., up-and-coming artist Geraldine Santiago makes the most out of her first solo exhibition by using her art to give to those who need it most.
Hope opens on June 25 and will run until July 9 at The Rockwell Club. The show will feature 14 new paintings by the artist, with origami cranes and silhouettes of children as motifs. Santiago’s subjects are playful but fragile, and her art celebrates their strength while also discussing (without words) the need to protect what is vulnerable.
The show doubles as fundraiser for victims of supertyphoon Yolanda through Santiago’s chosen foundations. Right Start is working on building teaching centers that provide after-school programs for underprivileged children, while Operation Blessing seeks to alleviate the plight of those worst hit by the typhoon through various educational and livelihood projects. Nothing short of 100% of the proceeds will go to these charitable institutions.
The Rockwell Club is at B1 of Amorsolo Square, No. 23 Amorsolo Drive, Rockwell Center, Makati City
