(SPOT.ph) Heima is already teeming with so much creative stuff that it feels like if you added more art inside, the shop would burst. On October 4, burst it did-with gold accents on the ceiling and the work of Reese Lansangan on the walls. The 23-year-old fluttered like a bird, entertaining wanderers inside the store, while booze kept the guests outside the shop occupied. Lansangan seems reserved for a person with vibrant violet hair, but when asked about her art, a modest confidence shines through.

On one side of the room, framed mixed-media collages are up for inspection. Opposite these works is an adorably small shelf of artifacts, right next to Polaroid shots of seemingly random things. Lansangan explains that The Gathering Season is about collection. She had posted on social media asking people what they’ve consciously accumulated and she interpreted their answers by doing her own compilation of visual materials.
You're encouraged to match the collage with the artifacts but not succeeding in this task won't rob you of a good experience. Lansangan's pieces are uncomplicated, with a hint of how she can grow as a visual artist in the future. Meanwhile, you can already follow her as a musician through her band, Reese & Vica.

Those present during the opening show were treated to the beats of Moonwlk and the fun tunes of Seed Bunye and Rizza Cabrera. Lansangan joined Bunye and Cabrera’s set and sang a cover of "All About the Bass" by Meghan Trainor.
