Singin' in the Rain makes a splash at The Theatre this August
Tickets go on sale on March 2
(SPOT.ph) We're quite prepared for constant downpours come August, but this year, the wind is in our favor and it's sending something glorious in our direction: Singin' in the Rain, live in Manila, straight from the West End.
Presenter and CEO of Lunchbox Theatrical Productions James Cundall says, "This production of Singin' in the Rain was one of the hottest tickets in the West End during its run, and I'm absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to bring one of my favorite musicals to Manila audiences-this show is a winner because it sends people out of the theater in the happiest of moods!"
The titular song alone is a jubilant treat on a grey day, and to see the iconic dance that goes with it is something out of a dream. Points for getting the reference to one other song from the musical!
Often touted as one of the greatest musicals ever made, the movie from which the story is derived follows Don Lockwood and his clumsy transition from silent films to talkies. Of course, there's a dash of romance thrown in there, too. Singin' in the Rain promises to make you laugh while showing a glimpse of old Hollywood in all of its blinding glamour.
Singin' in the Rain opens at The Theatre in Solaire on August 20. Tickets are on sale from March 2 onwards at Ticket World. Call 891-9999 for more information. Advance tickets with a 10% discount will be available during the Visa Entertainment pre-sale for all Visa credit, debit, and prepaid cardholders from March 2 until April 12 or until tickets are sold out at www.visa.com.ph.
