Art Adventure: Leeroy New and Catalina Africa at 1335 Mabini
"Entropic Romance" and "Reverse Boomerangs and Other Exercises for Pleasure" opens on April 25
(SPOT.ph) Traditional? Turn around and go elsewhere, because that's not what you're going to get here. On Saturday, April 25, 1335 Mabini is host to solo exhibitons of two artists who seem allergic to conforming.
Leeroy New, who some of you might associate with uncomfortable-looking dresses (they're fun to wear, we hear), is still doing funky things with the human form with Entropic Romance. The sneak peeks seem like cousins of his participation at Fringe Manila with the Daloy Dance Company.
Concurrently, Catalina Africa will be bending your mind with Reverse Boomerangs and Other Exercises for Pleasure through intermedia works, utilizing the canvas, the space in the canvas' periphery, and everything in between. Videos born from her time at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture will also be shown.
Entropic Romance and Reverse Boomerangs and Other Exercises for Pleasure runs from April 25 to May 22 at 1335 Mabini Gallery, A. Mabini Street, Ermita, Manila.
