10 Things We Loved at the MaArte Design Fair 2015 Preview
We loved the food. For food reasons.
(SPOT.ph) The recent boom in "crafting" workshops has pushed MaArte Artisan Fair to up their game. Scroll through Instagram and it seems like everyone's doing something impressive with the simplest materials (papercutting, anyone?), which is shifting the focus on what sets a piece apart. The Museum Foundation of the Philippines (MFPI) have been doing this for seven years now, so they know the answer: Design.
It's the theme of MaArte 2015: Craft, Art, Food, and Design Fair and we got a taste of it during the preview. From deceptively simple treats like Quezo De Bola Spread (one word: amazing) to one-of-a-kind RIMOWA luggage pieces designed by unlikely artists (leading man Xian Lim makes his debut!), the MFPI is keeping things interesting for their loyal patrons and pulling in a new crowd.
Happening on August 28 to 30 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Rockwell Tent, MaArte 2015 promises new designs from favorites and bold ideas from newcomers (like Great Women, joining the fair for the first time.) Check out some of the highlights from the preview.
