Les Miserables is coming to Manila!
We Dreamed the Dream and it happened.
(SPOT.ph) Les Misérables is officially coming to Manila on March 2016. Cameron Mackintosh is excited to bring the production to Manila after successful seasons in Melbourne and Perth. The good news was announced in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
And yes, Fantine will be played by West End-based Rachelle Ann Go, who has gotten a lot of thumbs up from Les Mis fans abroad. Joining her are Simon Gleeson as Jean Valjean and Earl Carpenter as Javert.
Les Miz is one of the most glorified musicals produced by Mackintosh. “After its Sydney and Brisbane run, I’m delighted to be bringing this new version to Manila in March, with a wonderful cast that include the current London star playing Fantine, acclaimed Philippine actress Rachelle Ann Go – who received enormous acclaim when I took her to London to appear as Gigi in my hugely successful new production of Miss Saigon. Over the last 25 years I have had a wonderfully rewarding relationship with Filipino talent, introducing the best of them to audiences around the world – so I’m thrilled that this time one of my productions can be seen in its full splendor in Manila,” he said.
We are excited to revel in the live performances of "I Dreamed A Dream," "On My Own," "Do You Hear the People Sing," and "One Day More".
