You Don't Have to Fly to Spain to See These Renaissance Paintings
El Museo del Prado en Filipinas runs until July 31.
(SPOT.ph) Have you always wanted to see life-size paintings by Spanish artist Francisco de Goya, French classicist Nicolas Poussin, German artist Albrecht Dürer, and the great Raphael? Museo del Prado in Madrid is a world-class institution that houses a large collection of artworks from the 12th to 17th Centuries, and getting there is as important as visiting the Louvre in France for artists and art enthusiasts. Since we can't just all up and leave, the museum just went here (sort of) through an exhibit titled El Museo del Prado en Filipinas.
Fifty-four high resolution reproductions of works from the Museo del Prado are now on display right in front of the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros. Each work has informative descriptions in both English and Spanish. El Museo del Prado en Filipinas was inaugurated during the annual Día del Libro on April 22 at the Ayala Triangle in Makati where the pop-up stayed for a month.
El Museo del Prado en Filipinas runs until July 31 at Plaza Roma, Intramuros, Manila.
