“Oligarchy” by Burn Aquino
(SPOT.ph) In recent issues on environmental exploitation, there's one thing that's constant: they often stem from power and greed. This is the sad truth that Filipino artist Melbourne Aquino (a.k.a. "Burn") reveals in his latest artwork titled "Oligarchy." The piece and his other creations are on display at Space Encounters Gallery in Pasig City this January.

"Oligarchy" was Aquino's entry to Florence Biennale 2017, which was held at Fortezza da Basso in October. The annual contemporary art festival went with the theme "eARTh: Creativity & Sustainability" in an effort to promote environmental awareness through art. The artist was joined by 461 others from 70 countries to mount more than 1,300 works for the week-long annual event.
Aquino's works are on display until January 26 at Space Encounters Gallery, 7/F Padilla Building, F. Ortigas Jr. Road, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. For updates, follow Space Encounters on Facebook.
