Provocative Ateneo Art Awards Exhibition Now at the Areté
Catch it until November 4.
(SPOT.ph) Shangri-La Plaza Mall has always been supportive of the Ateneo Art Awards since it was initiated by the Ateneo Art Gallery in 2008. The shopping mall in Mandaluyong annually hosts the exhibition of nominated artists for two weeks, allowing people from all over the Metro to check out the provocative pieces in a location that's right in the middle of EDSA. And with just a week before the awarding ceremony, it's about time that the works of art come home to the Arts Wing of Areté at the Ateneo de Manila University.
Recognized works for the Fernando Zóbel Prizes for Visual Art are now on display at The Curve Gallery, Ambeth R. Ocampo Gallery, Elizabeth Gokongwei Gallery, and Alicia P. Lorenzo Gallery—all located at the third floor of the Ateneo Art Gallery—until November 4.
Names of the 12 shortlisted artists for the Ateneo Art Awards 2018 were revealed in a press launch on July 19 at the Atrium of the Shangri-La Plaza Mall. Since then, everyone's been excited for the big awarding ceramony on August 26 at the Ateneo Art Gallery. The awardee for the Purita Kalaw-Ledesma Prizes in Art Criticism will also be announced on the same night.
Works by the shortlisted artists of the Ateneo Art Awards 2018 are on display until November 4 at the Ateneo Art Gallery, Areté, Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City. For more information, visit Ateneo Art Gallery's website.
