(SPOT.ph) Following the success of their first-ever run in February 2020, ALT Philippines returns this December with an actual, physical art festival. The second installation is deemed as the biggest art event to happen since the pandemic hit, especially since the pioneering Art Fair Philippines was held virtually in May. For this year, ALT Philippines' nine collaborating galleries are focused on providing scholarships and tablets for 20 deserving students through the ABC Foundation. The exhibition runs from December 4 to 8 at Finale Art File in Makati City. Viewing, which is for free, is strictly by appointment.
ALT Philippines 2021: An Art Show Benefit
"ALT Philippines 2021 aims to present the collective and individual stories of our time through Art by providing platforms for continued creative expression and collaboration. We recognize that art can enlighten, inspire, promote dialogue and heal, and we strengthen our commitment to support society through the benefits of the arts," the organizers said on their website.
Artinformal, Blanc, Finale Art File, Galleria Duemila, MO_Space, The Drawing Room, Underground, Vinyl on Vinyl, and West Gallery are presenting works of over 150 artists.
"A big group exhibition during this period of global turmoil comprehensively chronicles what we think and feel, know and do not know, have considered as successes as well as failures. Art enables us to better reflect, understand and respond to our current circumstances, and acts as a record for future generations to ponder on," they added.
ALT Philippines is from December 4 to 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Finale Art File, 2241 Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City. For more information, visit ALT Philippines' website.
